Great stay Great location, 5 minute walk in a safe neighborhood to the Little Italy area which is known for its restaurants and bars with a great weekly Farmer’s Market. Other notable areas to visit such as Gaslamp, Hillcrest & Barrio Logan are a reasonable drive away. The hotel is nicely appointed, when you first arrive you see the bar & lounge area that turns into a restaurant for the morning breakfast buffet-which I didn’t partake in because I wanted to walk to the different neighborhood options nearby, but what I saw seemed good to me. The hotel pool is across its parking lot with an adjacent gym which includes basic needs. Always at hand were plenty of clean towels. The hotel is 16 stories high and round so your 360° view depends on your room location. In room 1507 I had the city view which included the highway at a short distance. Rooms have a “balcony” but basically just for show and view because you can’t step out. They are roomy and well appointed and of most importance clean. Staff were always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely stay there again when visiting beautiful San Diego.

Move onto looking elsewhere as so rude here...see below as the proof Most of my reviews are positive ones! (85% about not kidding). This place at Dextro BW had a very poor attitude guest relations person today (Dec 27) msg me back so rudely and when I only said to make sure to read and not skim read as so many do these days now and as my whole key point was missed. Plus I had to follow up already as no reply for many days before today and before Christmas too even. So yes I was a bit annoyed as it was. I am also a Best Western rewards gold member and wow this is how I was treated today! So here I am reviewing accordingly and not enjoying this. I felt the need to cancel and try and book elsewhere taking a chance at rates to lock in and even though I booked for here months ago! I did manage to get a nicer place! Here is what I got back exact word for word below that set me off to look elsewhere and so rude and all I was trying for was a quiet spot of hotel as I dislike loud obnoxious selfish other guests. I am clean and do not smoke and am never stomping or banging loud! This was why I wanted to ask in the first place and not replied back until I had to write back and ask again. ... The DEXTRO Little Italy, BW Premier Collection Please read this message in full as well. You booked a standard two queen bedroom. These go up to the 9th floor only. You will be offered a room within this range. Floors 10 thru 16 are considered upgraded rooms but since you did not pay for an upgraded room, it will not be offered. Thank you ... (Except for saying the thank you, the rest is so darn rude!) With only so many days to go for my trip there to see the USS Midway and etc, I feel better now booking elsewhere! A much friendlier place who I assume I will give 5 stars to in the end.

This hotel checked all the boxes! From the moment we checked in, everything about our stay felt easy and welcoming. The staff was friendly, professional, and eager to help. They guided us through the parking garage and clearly explained how to get to our room, which made settling in a breeze. The room itself was gorgeous — beautifully decorated with a modern, coastal vibe and incredible views of downtown San Diego and the bay. Waking up to that skyline and the water sparkling in the morning sun was just the best. Everything felt clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for a relaxing stay. The location couldn’t have been better. It was right in the heart of the city, close to all the fun in Little Italy and just a short walk to Seaport Village. Whether we wanted a lively dinner spot or a quiet stroll by the water, everything was within easy reach. I used the gym a couple of times during our stay, and it was convenient, clean, and had everything I needed for a quick workout. The pool area was another highlight — peaceful, never crowded, and the perfect spot to unwind and soak up that classic San Diego sunshine. Another thing I really appreciated was the 24-hour pantry. It was always fully stocked with snacks, drinks, and other little essentials, which made grabbing a quick bite or beverage so easy. It’s such a simple touch, but it really added to the comfort and convenience of our stay. The lobby was spotless and had a great atmosphere — stylish and inviting. I didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant this time, but it looked like a great place to start the morning with breakfast or wind down with a cocktail at the bar. Next time for sure! Overall, this hotel checked all the boxes: friendly service, beautiful rooms, great amenities, and a location that puts you right in the middle of everything. I’d definitely stay here again and am already looking forward to my next trip to San Diego!

Great spot for a weekend getaway! Amazing views of the ocean and city! Delicious food and great service. Best sleep I had in months. Lots of things to do around in walkable distances and also driving.

Clean but lacking Stayed at the Dextro in Oct 2025 The hotel is clean. However, several things could improve. It advertizes parking, but 35 dollars per night makes it excesive, could consider other hotels with that cost per night. The bed seems really old and lumpy. Slept badly. Pillows also lumpy. No foam pilows. The A/C malfunctions, even turned off, it doesn't turn off; had to unplug it. We had no drinking water when we arrived. Terrible lighting, even with all lamps on, it is poor. The bathroom also lacks proper lighting. Here there is no shelf in shower so had to leave stuff on the floor. The TP holder is not good, you roll TP and it slips off :S The breakfast buffet offers only scrambled eggs and potatos and ham. Poor for 20 bucks. It looks nice and clean enough, but probably wouldn't return.
