Yummi & Andee are the #1 Tour guides in Belize! The resort was beautiful and the service was superior! Everyone on the property was very hospitable. Julio at the front desk helped answer a lot of questions and was so welcoming. We booked activities through our resort and really want to give recognition to our tour guides, Yummi and Andee. Yummi was our guide to Tikal. I highly recommend this tour, and you should request her. We went with our kids (9, 12) and Yummi brought a driver, Israel. They made sure our trip was seamless, end to end. We spent the day just picking Yummi's brain. She was so passionate about Mayan culture and history, but she was also knowledgeable about government, politics, and the economy not just of Belize and Guatemala, but she knew about the United States as well. We had the best conversations! She knew a ton about wildlife and conservation...it was a day of wonderful site-seeing and learning. Yummi is from Guatemala but speaks English perfectly. She was kind and caring and patient with our kids...cannot say enough great things about our trip to Tikal with Yummi! Andee was our guide to the ATM cave. When they say this activity is challenging, they are NOT exaggerating. There are very few places in the world that you will get to experience a trip like this. I told my friends, it's one of the most amazing things we've ever done, but you cannot bring cameras, so I have no evidence. You can watch some TikTok videos that will give you an idea of what to expect, but you will never know the depth of the experience unless you go see for yourself. Andee met us at the resort at around 7AM. We could tell that he was hurrying, but didn't understand fully why until we got there. He made sure we were the first in the cave that day, which makes for the best experience. After hiking for about 45 minutes, in and out of the river, you enter the cave and swim a ways until you make it to land. The hike to the end is about 3 hours...and what you see and do on the way there is something you will remember for the rest of your life. Not only is the cave amazing, but you get to climb in and out of small spaces, up and down big boulders, in and out of water. Our kids had a blast! Andee showed us interesting things all the way through and made sure everyone was safe along the way. Deep inside the caves are Mayan artifacts and evidence of human sacrifices. You will stand right next to ancient pottery and human remains. As Andee was giving the tour, you could tell that he was moved by what the Mayans had gone through and truly respected the sacred grounds. He talked about the political environment of the time and why the Mayans were desperate and compelled to beg the gods for rain and harvest by sacrificing in the caves. The whole day was breath taking! So, stay at Ka'ana when you come to the area, they will take great care of you. And book through the resort for your experiences, they will make sure you have everything you need, and are affiliated with some of the best tour guides in all of Belize & Guatemala!

Exceptional experience! It was a good drive from the airport but we already knew that from the time we booked. We wanted secluded from a bunch of tourist and this spot was perfect for that! Nice and quiet! Room was great! Staff was great! Food was great! The whole Belize experience was phenomenal!

Fun for the whole family I wanted to have a trip that would provide our kids (4 and 7) with a unique experience but also wanted to be in a comfortable location. The Ka'ana provided just what I was looking for. We stayed for a week, 2 days in a casita, and the remainder of our stay in the 2 bedroom villa. The casita was okay, but the villa was breathtaking. We enjoyed our private pool and patio area. There are a lot of bugs since you are in the middle of the jungle so it takes some getting used to. The doors in the rooms also aren't flush, so bugs get in through the cracks. Unfortunately 1 day we had a tarantula under the bed and another day we had a yellow scorpion by our bed. Without gaps around the doors, it would make it harder for animals to get in. We also went on 3 day trips while we were there, our tour guide Eddy was great. Our kids enjoyed the trips and he made them super kid friendly. He was able to explain things to them in a way they found fun and interesting. I would recommend staying here if you want to visit the Mayan ruins.

No water 2 nights in a row!!!! If you read other reviews this is a KNOWN issue. I would not recommend as they cannot provide a basic essential service such a running water.

No running water 2 nights in a row The hotel boasts beautiful landscaping and architectural features in its common areas, promising a luxurious stay. Despite the attentive service from the wait staff, notably Freddy, and the breakfast servers, our overall experience was marred by a significant issue: a lack of running water for two consecutive nights, starting from 10 PM. This unexpected inconvenience greatly detracted from our enjoyment and comfort during our stay. What compounded our frustration was the indifference of the reception to address the problem adequately. Their offer of $32 compensation for the inability to perform basic hygiene tasks, such as flushing the toilet or showering after a long day, felt grossly inadequate given the circumstances. Moreover, the maintenance of the hotel fell short of expectations for a five-star establishment, with noticeable areas in need of upkeep. Although the breakfast, featuring delicious local Belizean cuisine, was a highlight, the absence of local options for lunch or dinner was disappointing. The restaurant staff demonstrated a level of service that was truly five-star. Please note, the lack of an in-room phone system necessitating communication via WhatsApp. For people who are not familiar with it, you’ll need to download the app. Lastly, the exorbitant charge for airport transfers, triple the local rate, was another disappointment, despite the exceptional service provided by our driver Eddy. In summary, while the hotel shows promise, it falls short of delivering a consistently exceptional experience across all aspects of its service and amenities. This hotel absolutely needs to be delisted from Amex’s list of The Hotel Collection. I cannot recommend this hotel save for some exceptional service by part of the staff.
