Relax you're on vacation I finally found a Hilton that had comfortable pillows. The hotel was clean, room service was on top of things making sure everything was satisfactory. The personal at the front desk were always smiling and making us feel at home and welcome. The gentlemen outside, Christin and Jason were so helpful in suggesting places to visit and where to eat. They also drove us to and from the beach area. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to Puerto Rico. We felt like we were leaving family.

Very nice hotel Overall the hotel was nice other than a few minor issues. One customer in the room next to me was very loud and reported it to the front desk, which they took care of. The second but minor issue was that the toilet seat was broken and I let the hotel staff know. Otherwise, great staff, great food, and a wonderful place to stay that was no more than about 4 minutes from downtown San Juan.

Perfect for Honeymoon We came here for our honeymoon, and it was the perfect choice. Our room was exceptionally clean, and housekeeping left us an adorable set of towel swabs and a heart of rose petals on the bed. The bathroom door is a piece of sliding glass with no seals, so if there are any secrets in your marriage, there won’t be anymore! The shower had a bathtub faucet or ceiling showerhead only, and the water pressure is not very high from the showerhead. The bathtub is big though, and it was very easy to use the faucet to rinse hair. The fridge was ample for leftovers and waters, but did not have a freezer section. The in-room microwave was also nice to have. All of the staff throughout our stay was so kind and welcoming. The beach area was very empty despite being public, and having the chairs, towels, and umbrellas there made the whole trip so much easier than any other beach trip we’ve taken. The waves were pretty rough even for us seasoned surf swimmers, so I’m glad we didn’t bring any small kids. The beach is at Parque Del Indio and there are not as many restaurants or hotels there (but the hotel restaurant does deliver room service to the beach). The pools were clean, towels always very stocked, and the temperature of the water was perfect. The self-parking is a little confusing and the tickets didn’t work reliably, but the staff was helpful in making it work. We walked for dinner and lunch, and the 24/7 market across the street made it very easy to never go hungry. Best part is the real Starbucks next door if you have a specific drink you love (most hotels only have We Proudly Brew modified menus). We would absolutely stay here again!

Squeaks, explosions and barely there AC After reading reviews I decided to stay at the Doubletree for the night before my cruise. I'm giving it a 2 only because the staff were nice, the room was clean, and breakfast was good. The rest was not so good...my room was on the 8th floor, when I entered it was hot, like the AC was barely working. I called for maintenance, and he said to give it 10-15 mins to cool down. After an hour of sitting in the dark (I closed the drapes to keep the sun and more heat out) I went down to the front desk since my room was still at 77 degrees. Maintenance again came, changed a part, did temp measurements (it's nice that the air by the AC vent near the ceiling was reading 72 but where the bed was was still 77). I gave up, went to dinner and was only the second table there. I waited quite a while before the waitress brought me a menu. The food was terrible when I finally got it half an hour later, worst Philly cheesesteak ever with chunks of meat, burned bread, lukewarm fries. After a cold shower to cool off in my still hot room, I settled in to watch TV only to be jarred by a loud explosion outside that cut off power (it came back on seconds later thankfully). A call to the front desk, when finally answered, told me it was 'probably' a generator outside. After that incident I was kept awake by a high-pitched squeaking/shrill noise like an alarm. Another call to the front desk, when finally answered, was told the elevator was stuck on the 8th floor and they were trying to fix it. Breakfast was at least good, the room was packed, and that waitress was doing an excellent job keeping up with demand. She should train the dinner waitress how to wait on tables. On checking out I heard that same high pitched squeaking noise and was told it was the service elevator and he would report it. So, no one but me has heard that high pitched squeak from the service elevator. For the price paid for this hotel I would expect a cool room with working AC, decent food in the restaurant, no explosions and no squealing elevators. I wish I'd stayed somewhere else .

Great location and hotel. Christian was the best! Greeted us every morning with a smile. Very helpful and arranged for us a private turtle snorkel with Angler Aquatics. Highly recommend this experience! The hotel is great. Beds are super comfy and lots of dining options nearby.
