Economy Hotel in SLO The Hotel Buena Vista is for the frugal traveler who doesn't care about sharing their vacation pics on Instagram. The executive rooms in the back building do the job of providing a place to sleep, shower, and microwave a burrito from the nearby 7-11. Our room (the executive 2 queen) seems to be recently updated, but not stylishly.. Maybe better lighting would help.

Terrible experience gmailhotelbuenavistaslo.com, nroderick50@gmail.com To managers, I was a guest at your hotel from 10/19/24—10/23/24; I had a very bad experience and was hoping that the General Manager (Diana Zuniga) would be able to speak to or respect me as a customer. I have been in the hospitality business for over 30 years, and she is the worst! 10/19/24 Checked in, late arrival, which I called to inform. Went to room and keys would not work- tried 3-4 times; called the front desk, they came and had to force the door. Inside lock would not lock. 10/20/24 Second evening, same problem as above on 10/19/24; inside lock would not lock. Forced the door. Found spiders in the living area, bathroom, and windows. (I had been bitten by spiders in the past.) Spiders all over the place, I found the web in the second window; asked the front desk to please have housekeeping clean; Housekeeping told me to talk to front desk. We went out for a few hours; nothing was done. I took pictures of Spider Web. (I have these if you need). No face clothes or hand towels in room. I went to the front desk to obtain. The hair dryer would not work. (Have picture of this as well). Went to put hand towel on ring and the whole thing fell off; Asked front desk to have maintenance handle; No one was on duty this day, they were off. Spoke again to front desk, they moved me to next unit 121; guess what door worked, lock worked, no spiders. The only thing I found was the sink in the bathroom drains extremely slowly. Spoke to front desk about this as well. 10/22/24 Went out for the day, came back to No Hot Water on my section of units. (Front desk gave me an option of moving again or using another unit for a shower, which I did. (Used Unit 334) I was disappointed once again; the front desk gave me a key to another unit so I could take a shower as I was leaving the next day. Asked at the front desk for the General Manager’s name and they were cordial to accommodate me. Upon checking out the manager was rude, disrespectful, and degrading. She stated that she remembered me from a previous stay, and I had a spider problem previously. I spoke up and stated that I wanted to clear the air, I had never been here previously, and she was confusing me with someone else. I was from the State of Maine and did a lot of research as to which hotel to stay in. The website is not what I encountered. The pool was not heated as stated on the website. I thought she would have compensated me some from the problems I encountered. No she treated me with disrespect and she should not be in business. I will put a review on your website, and it will not be nice! Sincerely, Nancy Roderick

I would avoid This hotel is really awful and I’m not sure how they can charge what they do. I tried multiple rooms and they all had mold issues, or water damage on the ceiling, or weird smells. The front desk staff was helpful. I gave it a shot on a busy weekend due to some good reviews, but I would avoid this motel for sure after seeing the rooms.

My Back Alley On New Year's Day, after a long road-trip, we arrived at Hotel Buena Vista to a friendly front office receptionist. Our room was located upstairs and down a drafty path right next to the freeway where every car going by could be heard. It took several hours to heat the room to a comfortable 70 degrees while running it full-force at 90 for four hours. The bathroom toilet and sink had hair in it from a previous stay. The decor is so mixed and matched--painfullly old and dirty looking carpet. The furniture looked like a mish-mash of furniture I've seen sitting out in my alley-way. The pros: Nice new-looking recliner, Hallmark channel, microwave and refrigerator. After giving the room a chance, I called the front desk staff who offered to proved us with a different room. I was too tired to mess with moving luggage, our cooler etc...with only a hope that it might be better so we decided to stick witht the room. I would not recommend this place to anyone wanting a clean welcoming space.
