Relaxing weekend, but crowded! Great relaxing weekend, but we found it a bit too crowded. 1. Locals in the area can purchase a club membership at the Chaminade and they booked out the tennis and pickleball courts in advance and we couldn't play much 2. Lots of weddings happening on the property and extremely limited lounge space for the hotel guests

A Stay Marked by Silence and Inaction Facts only with the personal feelings, you draw your own conclusions Saturday: Checked in with no issues and got to our Suite which is 2 connected rooms. One of the room had some terrible reverberating sound and had non working AC with room being uninhabitably hot. Only 2 towels for 4 people. Called front desk and was told maintenance will come check it out right away and towels will be brought over. 45 min later no one shows up or calls. We call front desk again and again told someone will be right over. In about 30 min we leave for dinner without seeing anyone. 2 hours later (8pm or so) we are back and there are no towels nor working AC. No calls has been made to my cellphone or to the rooms phone. I go to the front desk in person this time. Apparently there is no night managemer in person there Saturday during long weekend with hotel being full to the brim. Front desk staff trying to do something for me now. They can't answer what happened with maintenance coming by to check out AC issue nor towels nor what they actually would be able to do for us. They frantically attempting to get in touch with the manager to make some decision as i am told there are no other rooms available to replace uninhabitable one. I'm being asked to wait. 10 min later I'm inquiring if they have update for me and I'm being told they just received a message from manager and apparently there is another room available in another building. I take that room as it's only option, I take the towels (which I had to ask again for in person while there)and go to the new room with my daughter and my wife keeps the other room with 12 year old kid she has to share bed with. I'm being told that engineering will be in in the morning first thing priority to work on the AC. Sunday: We go for breakfast then comeback. No one came as there is no indication of any work being done, no note or the call. I go in person to the front desk to remind them again. A friendly young man assure me that if it's ok with me he will have someone come look at the ac right away. It's very much ok with me and I leave to the gym. After about an hour I'm back and ... No one came, left note or called. We leave until 4pm and when back we find ... nothing was touched and AC still out, no note, no calls We change and go for dinner. When we are back ... It's exactly how we left it. It's evening and we leave half of the family and go to another room we got the day before. There are no sheets, pillowcases, etc it's all been removed yet towels are there. I call front desk, explained that I need full entire set of bedding for both beds. 10 minutes later a pleasant young man shows up carrying a few sheets and pillowcases. Clearly that's not entire set. I try to explain that and he says he will be back in 3 minutes. He comes right back carrying mattress protectors. I am too tired and it's getting late, I take what he brought and thank him. My daughter and I use available sheets and prepare beds to the best. Monday: We gather our things and check out from both buildings. AC was never fixed, no communication or explanation of any kind is provided. We are politely thanked and invited to stay again.

Just okay The location was ideal as it is in a quiet location. It is nice that it is pet friendly. The gym was decent size. The grounds were beautiful with good views from the main building. There is a hiking trail which was nice. Rooms are hit or miss. We booked two rooms, hoping our family can at least be in the same building. We were told a few hours before checking in that they had us in the same building. We informed them that we will be checking in a little late, so they know that we are still coming. Upon checking in, we found out that we were two buildings away from each other. Okay, I understand that it is not guaranteed, but why tell us a few hours before checking in that our rooms are in the same building. One room has a funky smell, the other was worn out and carpet was dirty. Other issue we dealt with was one of the bathroom’s shower did not warm up at all. So we had to take cold showers. Okay, we can overlook that. We are only there for two nights. Parking was extremely limited. One day, they had a wedding going on, so it made the parking situation even worse. We extended for another night, so we decided to book one room for our family of 4. And the only availability they have is Junior King Suite. We were told it sleeps 4 with a pullout couch. So we accepted. Realistically, that room only sleeps 3 as the pullout couch only accommodates 1 person, unless your family of 4 includes 2 kids. So I slept on the small portion of the couch. I asked for extra pillows as there is only 1 extra included in the suite, but they said they were out. I also asked for an extra blanket but they gave us the down comforter whose feathers were sticking out and poking you. So we made do with what we have, and I used the bathroom robe to keep me warm. Room was cleaner than the previous ones we had earlier though. But the bathroom door was broken and the screen to the patio is also broken. We used the restaurant once, and had in room dining once. It was okay. Nothing to rave about. This is not a cheap hotel, not the most expensive either, but they could improve on the basics, clean rooms that don’t have a funky smell and are well maintained. I think for a few more dollars, we could’ve gone somewhere else for a more comfortable stay.

Looks better in photos. Went for a relaxing Anniversary getaway but ended up being noisy/busy. At least food was good. More kids/families than couples. Went over Labor Day hoping for a relaxing Anniversary but it was noisy and extremely busy. Rooms smell and need updating. At least the food was good.

It's nice, but you can spend the same amount elsewhere for more Overall, the grounds are nice and refreshing. It is close enough to get what you need (go to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, the beach, anything you want, really) and yet still feel like you're a little isolated. That being said, the suites/rooms need some updating. The buildings feel a little too close to an old 90's motel and the furniture and fixtures seem to be just as dated, including rusted faucets in the bathroom and a tub that didn't want to drain well. There's a mini fridge in the Jr. Suite, but no microwave, and not nearly enough pillows for a room that sleeps 6 (we got a total of 6 flat pillows when each person really wanted 2). The food at The View restaurant was decent, but not great. The smores are a fun add-on, but at $150 for 4 people, is so very overpriced. We got only enough chocolate for 4 people to have 2 smores each. There were enough marshmallows to feed at least 10, though. The seats were very uncomfortable but looked like they would be really nice. Internet access is very bad an you need to log on to their service, which wasn't great on a holiday weekend. Parking was awful and I have an ADA pass and still couldn't find a spot. They do have a shuttle, but it was too inconvenient to use. They are a "pet-friendly" hotel but you can't leave your pet in the room or take your pet to the pool area. I have a service animal and did take my service animal to the pool area. She is registered as an ADA service animal and I also called in advance as well as ensured all would be OK when we checked in at the front desk, but I was still approached by an employee at the pool area (I was not in a swim suit and did not go in the pool and my dog was wearing a service animal vest) and asked more than once to leave with her. The spa was my favorite part. It was a very relaxing hour and includes use of the hot tub and surrounding area for the day. I suppose this would be great if you were just coming to the spa and not actually a hotel guest. It would have been nice if there was some additional benefit to being a guest of the hotel, but I really enjoyed the experience. And having gratuity included in my $150 massage was nice. The was a nice place, but not a great place. There are better places to spend $450/night.
