Enjoyable over all but breakfast appauling. We have stayed at the hotel a few times now but the last few times we have had various issues. This stay was the first time that we had had the breakfast and it was genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever had anywhere. It was unhygienic, food selection very sparse and really badly laid out so that you had to queue to join a queue for the toaster that barely worked or the coffee machine that didn’t work at all by the time I got to it. I didn’t bother eating after a look around the offerings and we went to the main bar for a coffee instead. The menu online that offers pancakes, kippers, smoked salmon etc is not current apparently….you don’t say! It needs taking off the website as it’s incredibly misleading to think that this is what you are paying for. The breakfast room was small and dingey with sticky tables. The young ones working on the breakfast shift probably got the short straw as I saw a few disgruntled guests. There didn’t seem to be anyone over seeing them so they were trying their best to keep up and deal with guests with minimal direction. We didn’t bother with it on the 2nd morning. On a more positive note, the room was fine, bed was comfortable and the staff were really helpful to be fair to them. The spa was fine too. It seems the every time we visit everything is just a little bit more run down. The 4* rating may have been appropriate a decade or so ago but unfortunately it’s just not the case now. Maybe this visit was our last and we will try somewhere new next time.

Not worthy Not the best hotel I've stayed in the UK and definitely not four stars . I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the country for work and I don't have problems to stay even in lower star rate hotels or cheaper options and I'm not picky. Rooms barely clean, some things in the rooms don't work Lights, buttons heaters etc , even the key cards don't work most of the times. The rooms are very hot and when I asked how to shut down the heating radiator because that one was broken too on the switch, they advised me to use the fan. Carpets and furniture haven't been washed for very long time and shower heads were very rusty, etc I had to ask to change room as the heat as unbearable and on the next one was slightly better. The most of the staff were nice except one manager that was very arrogant and cold face and a sarcastic smile with a posture like his is a manager in the most prestigious casino in Las Vegas once I have asked for if I can warm my food after in was working 14 hours shift in the hospital in which he refused although I have accepted it, but I felt discriminated as was there as a worker and not as a tourist the way he was treated me and looked at me . Ok the. Building is old but you need navigator to find your room , once you are out of the lift you are in a maze , very confusing sings on the walls and poor indications and guidance were to go etc. Parking is impossible although they confirmed to me prior there is available but nothing. Date of experience: 04 October 2024

Nice hotel, rooms need a refresh. Nice hotel. Reception and bar area is very nice but the rooms need updating. The staff are very helpful and managed to resolve an issue we had with the room within minutes. The spa is great and a very well equipped gym. I had a facial in the spa with Olivia who did an excellent job. Very caring and attentive. Lovely relaxing facial. Hotel has lovely views and would stay again but maybe upgrade to a nicer room.
