DO NOT STAY HERE An absolute disgrace of a hotel - shouldn't even be allowed to charge money to stay in those rooms. Damp and mould everywhere, carpets were wet, shower dirty. And terrible customer service - quoting there is 'no health and safety issue so we can charge' Utterly disgusting

Beautiful big hotel that needs a lot of work done Beautiful hotel but needing to be cleaned better inside and outside. Seagulls everywhere and the outside was covered in their excrement. Our room was very basic and though dated was clean enough. Food was good lovely porridge for breakfast along with normal breakfast fare . Dinner was fine with apple crumble and custard for pudding one night which was yummy. The staff in the dining room were helpful and friendly. Excellent location right next to beach . Scarborough is lovely but the seagulls are a big problem

Discusting, do yourself a favour and book somewhere else! This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, we paid for a room with a window I'm shure the definition of a window is something you can look out of, not in this case because of the amount of bird mess, the manager told us that the windows are cleaned every month, the mess on the window was a build up of years of NOT being cleaned. The bathroom stunk from the saniflow unit to the point we couldn't use it. the manager said that this was normal as all hotels are now using these units. I should point out that the managers suit had more of a shine than the stair banister, his people skills were non existant. we checked in on-line yet still had to queue for 45 min for a key. Room........................................discusting Hotel forntage..................... discusting Walkways & corridors.........discusting Lifts...........................................dated and dirty Paint work and general decor is in a poor tired looking state, I is plane to see there is NO investment in this hotel and it is being used as a cahs-cow. The staff clearly have no training in how to deal with the guests..................STAY AWAY

Fire alarm test every Wednesday at 10:30am don’t forget Brittany’s rewards Please be aware they test the fire alarm every Wednesday at 10:30am, with not much signage. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of customer service, I’ve stayed previously without having to deal with reception but there’s only 1 reception staff who seem to care at all. You can also use the pool in their sister hotel the royal but I didn’t find that out until the last day of my 3rd visit this year! Britannia also offer a rewards scheme if you book direct you get points another thing not overly advertised. It’s like they don’t really want you to know about it. Room was ok, fan in the bathroom doesn’t work so taking a shower made the whole room wet, when 3 people took showers it was like a swimming pool, spoke to reception and all they had to say was did you switch the fan on? I didn’t see a switch but I’m only 5.4ft so could possibly have been taller than me. We didn’t opt for food this time as previously had a bad experiences with their food and they don’t provide decaf tea bags anywhere in the hotel or sparking water, but there is a shop a short walk away. The carousel around the corner does a fantastic breakfast where 2 kids eat free for 1 adult so £11.99 for 3 of us and the choice is huge!
