Quaint old little hotel! My granddaughter and I stayed here for the night before my surgery. It a quaint old hotel, small rooms, but cute. Was downtown Seattle, so all we could see was other businesses. We enjoyed staying here and would do again. Great place for our stay.

No AC. Very basic and dated, but close to VM. We spent a night here because my wife was scheduled for surgery at Virginia Mason early the next day. It is next door to Virginia Mason, but there are steep hills to get to most of the hospital buildings. Do not stay here when the temperature is over 80 during the day. There is no AC in the rooms. 2 of 3 windows were barred from opening more than 3". The third window had broken counterbalances and would not stay up. We had a fairly uncomfortable night despite having a box fan in the room. Having the windows open meant that there was a lot of street noise on the 4th floor. Not ideal prep for surgery the next day. When it says "classic", in this case it means kind of drab and dated. The bed linens seemed old and thin and threadbare.

Very convenient to hospital I stayed at this hotel for four nights due to a family member in the hospital next door. The hotel is located right next to the emergency room. That entrance and exit is always open. During the day there is an elevator you can take from the hotel to the hospital. The room I had was just fine. The hotel is older and there is wear and tear. Everything was clean and they have daily housekeeping. I could open the windows a little bit but only one had a screen on it. A box fan was provided which helped cool the room. I would probably be reluctant to stay here in the summer months due to a lack of air conditioning. Everyone I encountered at the front desk was polite.

Possibly Good Option for Virginia Mason Patient/Families/Loved Ones I opted to stay in this hotel based on the location. For the price, I expected this hotel to be comfortable. I was looking forward to staying in this historic building. Unfortunately, my 6 night stay for business was a very unpleasant experience. I have stayed in historic hotels before and they can be very charming and quite beautiful. This one was run down, dingy and depressing. The front desk staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. I could not get a washcloth because they "ran out"...for 6 days. The benefit of this hotel would be its literal physical attachment to Virginia Mason Hospital. For loved ones of patients needing services at Virginia Mason, you could not get a closer or more convenient location. That being said, if I had a loved at Virginia Mason the least of my concerns would be my sleeping accommodations. I hope they give a steep discount to Virginia Mason patients/families/loved ones because those individuals should not have to pay 'sticker price' for this hotel. It serves the purpose for a close, safe hotel for Virginia Mason services.

Baroness Hotel stay. We stayed a night before my husband’s medical procedure. Not enough information was given at the time of the reservation, not knowing how and where to unload luggage or no snswer to how much discount we received on medical procedure at Virginia Mason Hospital. The staffs were just polite enough but no smiles nor extra miles to be helpful. Outside noise was so bad, ended up with poor sleep
