La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Shawnee

Rude, Unreasonable Staff We had clean, comfy beds. They have a decent breakfast. Unfortunately, we won't stay here again because of how awful the service was. We had 3 people in our room and stayed 2 nights. They did not do the towel refresher like most hotels, so we came back after my daughter's softball games and still had all our dirty towels in a pile on the floor where we left them. We went to the front and asked for new towels and the front desk told us that we had to carry all the dirty towels downstairs first, and she could only replace each towel/washcloth with a clean one, but wouldn't give us any extras. We were already exhausted and dirty after being at the ball fields all day. Nevertheless, we went back to the room and took her 4 towels, 4 washcloths, 3 hand towels, and the floor towel for the shower, and she only handed us 2 towels and 2 washcloths. We asked for the 4 towels and washcloths to be replaced and at least a floor and hand towel, since I was working out in the morning and would need a towel for the morning and evening, and at first, she argued with us and wouldn't provide anything, but she finally got back up and got the 2 extra towels and 2 extra washcloths, but continued to refuse the floor towel and hand towel. She told us if we wanted anything else, we could "take it up with housekeeping in the morning." We had to be very careful getting out of the tub because the floor was very slippery and we had no floor towel or extra towels to lay on the floor, and the shower curtain didn't close all the way. Our softball games were rained out late that first evening, and we got notice around 11:30 p.m. that our first game the next day wasn't until 2:30. Because our daughter had to be up later than normal due to the delays and subsequent cancellation of her games, and we would be able to let her sleep in some, we called the front desk and asked if we could please get an extra hour before checking out. She curtly replied "NO." I asked if there was a reason, and she said "there are too many people staying here and not enough staff." I can't help but think that extra hour wouldn't have hurt anyone. In the morning when I went to workout, half the weights in workout room were missing, and went from 5lb-30lb., which ended up being a little inconvenient. We stay in this area almost every weekend for softball tournaments, and if the service had been good, we would have stayed here all the time due to the cleanliness of the room, but the staff was ridiculously unreasonable and rude, so we won't be back.

Recommend This is one of the better La Quinta inns I have stayed at recently. It was renovated not too long ago and they did a great job. If you are bringing a pet, there are more than ample grassy areas which is great. The room is nice and spacious and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is subpar, but that seems to be the case at all La Quinta recently.

GREAT STAY property was very neat and clean and in good repair. the staff was very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was quiet and restful. all the amenties were available and in working order. the beds were very comfortable

Attending Local dog show. Have stayed here for last 7 yrs. Hotel is clean and well kept. Staff helpful and service is good. Breakfast is good and food was hot and ready on time. South side door does not key card 90% of the time and that was very annoying. It's been this way for at least 5 yrs...think they could fix or replace the door.

Renovations were horrible Renovation had whole 1st floor torn up. FD was in weight room. No breakfast or lobby coffee. Construction and noise disturbing. Staff was unorganized and unprofessional. There was no price reduction with all the inconveniences and lack of breakfast or coffee.
