Best Western Plus Carriage Inn

Romantic Refreshing and Relaxing Great big clean room with wheelchair roll in shower. The Jacuzzi spa is awesome and loved the beautiful property!

V ery modern and clean This is a very modern, updated,clean hotel for a reasonable price. The only downside is that the street noise might bother someone (not me). If it would bother you, ask for a room in back away from the street.

Best bed! Great service! Besides the room being clean, quiet and large, we were surprised to see that the front desk staff were wearing sports coats and ties. The room attendant brought us extra coffee and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever enjoyed while in a hotel.

Needs a better management The room had a clogged shower sink, and the receptionist was rude to take the report of the problem. The room was very noisy because of the yard work noise in the early morning. The housekeeper was knocking the door for checking every morning, since there was no "don't bother" sign left.

Very disappointing, not up to Best Western. To begin with, I usually stay at Best Western or Best Western Plus hotels, so my comparison is based on my previous experiences, which have always been excellent until now. Every Best Western Plus I’ve stayed at so far has included at least one of the following perks: complimentary breakfast, an in-room microwave, and free secured parking. But here, none of that was available. On top of the relatively high room price (understandable since it’s Los Angeles), we were directed to a restaurant next door that was decent but quite expensive. Since we were used to having a microwave in our room, we asked if it was normal that there wasn’t one and whether it was possible to get one. We were told, “Yes of course, we’ll bring one to you,” with no further explanation—only to discover at the end of our stay that it was charged per day. Just a few dollars, but it still felt like a hidden fee. Parking was also paid ($13 per night) and not secured. Homeless people were wandering around the entrance all night, which made it hard for me to sleep peacefully. Speaking of this, you’re not actually staying in a hotel here, but a motel—with rooms opening directly to the outside and very poor sound insulation. To finish, the bathroom outlets didn’t work. The safe didn’t work. The iron didn’t work. Nothing to say about the cleanliness, which was great, nor about the location itself, which is close to Los Angeles, its main attractions, and Universal Studios. Overall, it’s not a terrible property, but all these small issues put together leave a strong feeling of disappointment.
