Nice enough Like everything at Snowshoe (it seems), this building appears to be 40 years old and in need up updating. It isn't nearly that old. The individuall condos are ... individual. So they vary considerably but we found our 1 bedroom comfortable. There was a fold out couch (sleeps 2) and a fold out ottoman (sleeps 1) that we didn't need. No dining room area but a counter bar at the kitchen. Bathroom was tiny but serviceable. The best part of Top of the World is that nearly every service is available in the building, including check-in/check-out, a gear shop and ski rentals. The Soaring Eagle lift is literally right outside the door. There is a restaurant in the building (Hoot's) but you're better off pretending they don't serve food. Better restaurants in the village or bring your own.

Location is the only redeeming factor Ready for an expensive, small, shabby condo experience? If so, Top of the World is perfect. The only redeeming factor in staying here is the location. You’ll be right next to Soaring Eagle Express. Complaints are many: bed sagged significantly in the middle (my neck is still killing me), the bedroom “window” is exposed to the inner hallways and you hear everyone walking around, the hallway is super tight, the kitchen is super tight, eating at the bar is super tight, the bar stools were wobbly and felt like they were going to break, the DSL (yes, DSL) internet was beyond terrible and worthless for everything but checking email, and everything…in a nutshell: Shabby.

Average condo with awful bed When you book in Top of the World you already know you’re booking an average property. That’s ok, but it drops below average when you can’t get a decent night’s sleep because the mattress is old. The mattresses sloped inward so you’re on top of your bed partner whether you want to be or not. It certainly wasn’t conducive to a good nights sleep. Unit #217 is a three bedroom, two bath unit so it’s roomy enough, especially for 4-6 people. It’s a stretch to call one of the rooms a full bedroom. It did have a full size lower bunk with a twin on top but negligee space for luggage. It would be a great bedroom if you had kids. If the mattresses were replaced it would still be an average unit.

Average condo Overprice because of location. The building was like going into a sauna. Only one window with no air conditioning. Got in late and they couldn't even turn on the hot water. Had to switch on the breaker. If you are Canadian don't believe it's $88 us funds per night. When you book and go through all the extra costs it's now $194 Canadian dollars. Very expensive for what it is. The bedroom has no windows and when it's hot you cook. This might be good for skiing but not that good for summer. The restaurants are super expensive so make sure you stop and bring groceries. Would not book there again. Only good thing is the view. Lots of wild life walking around. Be careful driving deer everywhere.

Adequate Top of the World Stayed here for the weekend of Jan 12th. Check-in was smooth and fast. We had great customer service at the check-in desk. The Top Of the World facility is clean and welcoming. There is a small shop in the building selling mountain essentials such as : jackets, gloves, jackets, shoes, bags. A restaurant/bar is in the building. There is also a ski/board rental- which is great if you don’t own your own equipment. There are dressing rooms, bathrooms, and rental locker area near the rental shop that are great amenities for those that need them. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a unit facing the parking lot. There are 2 elevators to use. When we entered, we immediately noticed that the bathroom and bedroom were orderly and clean. However, we were very disappointed with the lack of housekeeping. While the towels and linens were clean, bathroom and bedroom appeared clean, the unit was not clean. There was a ziploc bag of brownies left in the bedroom night table, the kitchen counters were not wiped down, and there were crumbs all over the place, along with dried liquid rings from previous tenants. The glass coffee table also had crumbs all over the place and dried fluids from the previous tenant’s drinks or food. There were Cheerios all over the carpeted floor under the kitchen bar seating areas. I was very disappointed with this. I have complained about housekeeping in the past (on other properties, not just this resort) and often received a slow response. We were ready to start skiing and didn’t want to wait on the service staff to come do their job. I did bring my own wet-wipes so we wiped down the coffee table and cleaned off the kitchen counters. The vacuum was in the unit, so we vacuumed. Clearly we threw out the left-over food found in the bedroom. Obviously, we ran the dishwasher, full of dishes we would likely use during the weekend, as there was no guarantee that those were clean based on the first impression of this unit. The bathroom had hot water with great water pressure and there was an exhaust fan to help with the humidity in there. The microwave and fridge/freezer were clean. Linens and towels were clean. TVs in the living room and bedroom were in working order. The complex is next to the Soaring Eagle lift which is very convenient. Unfortunately because of the restaurant in the building, we heard all the drunk and loud people who were loitering nearby. They even admitted being drunk to passerby people. We had a hard time sleeping due to the noise from these people. They were even loud at the bus stop. Then unit is adequate, and we were mostly comfortable. But we won’t stay here again. We do not have faith in the facility’s housekeeping staff and the restaurant/bar in the building was too close for comfort due to the noise.
