A quiet, mostly comfortable stay, in a clean, reasonably priced property close to Notre Dame. Our stay went very well but I do have a few comments: I realize that the property is an older one and it may not be required to be in compliance with the ADA. However, for guests like me with mobility difficulties, the lack of stairs, and bars in the showers, created just a bit of a challenge. The reopening of the restaurant and pub would be wonderful and would enhance the property greatly!! The free parking is very much appreciated. However, they seem to have so much extra land. Perhaps if they could sell off part of it, they could enhance the hotel. The carpets need to be replaced, badly. The mattresses were too hard for my taste. The Front Desk staff is top notch. We were helped all weekend with our mobility scooter delivery and pick up, delayed luggage delivery, resetting our television, etc. The competition for Notre Dame/Saint Mary's guests has increased greatly with the building of so many properties in Mishiwaka in recent years. With this property being closer to the schools, however, there is so much they could and should do to gain a competitive and profitable edge. We hope they are able to do so in the years to come!

Not a lucky clover Not a lucky clover! This property is now a choice hotel, the clover. Not a good experience. Unbeknownst to us it was Norte Dames Graduation weekend. We were driving to Pennsylvania from Iowa. This was half way. Did not have reservations. Every hotel in south bend that we called or stopped in to was booked. In desperation we checked in to the clover. $171.30 plus a $100 damage deposit. Only had one room key available for us to share. It’s more like a motel than hotel. Various wings. No elevator. Had to drive around to side entrance. Stairwell was dark. Upstairs hallway by door even darker. Open door and flicked light switch nothing happened. Walked across the room to turn on desk light. Tried to turn on nightstand light to find out it had a button on what looked like an outdoor extension cord. Shower dribbled rather than flowed upon check in. Got water to flow in the morning but no hot water. Another guest decided to stand in the hall and use speaker phone to hold a conversation. After 15 minutes, I got out of bed and asked him to talk his conversation inside. Kids running in hall. Doors slamming all night. The gal working the front desk at check in was very nice and very helpful.

Having to pay for breakfast We made a booking and breakfast was included. During our stay this changed and we had to pay $10 for a very limited breakfast. When this was address with front desk they were not willing to wave the fees. The hotel was ok and kids enjoyed swimming pool.

Dated property that needs a refresh We stayed at the Ramada for a college visit to Notre Dame. Proximity to the University was good but this hotel seems very dated. The bathrooms were in poor condition. Because there was a football game that weekend we paid a premium of $300+ but I wouldn’t pay more than $59 for this quality of room. Note: This hotel doesn’t service the rooms regularly. I would stay somewhere else.

See through curtains Don't stay here unless u plan on bringing something to cover up windows - you can peek into any room you want, anytime anyday - too creepy for me. I took my stuff and left IMMEDIATELY! There is no reason to have see through curtains at a hotel put of all places!
