Don't go to Blue Bay. I forgot to put the parking permit in the window of the car and they had our vehicle towed to another city. It was very expensive to get the car back. We were not the only one that happened to on that day. There was a woman by herself that also have her car towed. You just go out to your car and it is gone. When you go back inside to tell they the say, "Did you put your parking permit in the window?" So they do it on purpose.

Beware of towing scam at this seedy hotel I did not stay at this hotel. I visited the souvenir shop next door (Jaws). I parked in front of the Jaws sign (see pics), went into the store and found they did not have what I was looking for, and went out 5 minutes later to find my brand new car (less than 5000 miles) gone. I thought it was stolen and went back into Jaws, where the clerk told me it must have been towed by the Blue Bay Inn next door. I went back out and saw there was a seedy hotel next to the shop I had not previously noticed, with a parking lot that was almost entirely empty. I looked at the space where I parked and saw a blank white piece of paper, which turned out to be the back side of a paper no parking sign that had been taped there, but had blown down in the wind (see pics). I went into the hotel, showed them the picture proving their sign was down, and asked them to get my car back, as I had just run down the street to buy a boogie board for my 13-year-old daughter, who was now alone under an umbrella at the beach waiting for me. I was stranded, in wet clothes, with no car and no way to get back to her. They said they didn't care and gave me the number for the towing company. I told them the sign was down, I was in the store for less than 5 minutes, my daughter was on the beach by herself and they needed to bring my car back right away (it had been only a few minutes since they towed it). They said no, they were going to go ahead and take it to Port Isabel and I would need $273 to get it back. I spent the rest of the day dealing with this, ruining a rare (and expensive) chance to get away to the beach with my daughter before school started. I am working to get the money I was extorted out of returned, and have now learned this is an ongoing scam involving Blue Bay Inn and Rancho Towing, with complaints posted all over the internet. It appears Blue Bay Inn even regularly tows their own guests cars, as you can see from other reviews. I'm trying to do my part to spread the word about these unscrupulous companies.
