Better Options Available Portland’s prices are definitely expensive but I don’t think the quality of the Doubletree was worth $230+ a night especially with how far out it was from the downtown area. The hotel is need of major updates- the tub had mold, the baseboards were covered in dust and hair and the view from the room was of an abandoned shopping center. The carpets in the hallways had trash and the second elevator was broken making the wait long at times in the morning. It’s almost like the hotel was out of supplies too. We were only given two towels and no extra roll of toilet paper. When we asked for new towels, we had to wait for some to come out of the dryer. Overall, the hotel did its job but I wish for the money it would have been a little cleaner. The bar area in the hotel did seem to be the nicest part of the hotel. Free parking was also a plus.

Not the Experience I Expected The stay was below expectations. The room could have been cleaner, and the parking lot lighting was inadequate, which didn’t feel secure. I was glad I checked in online, as some guests arriving at 9:30 p.m. were told their rooms were still being cleaned. The Wi-Fi was not working during my visit.

DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY First let me say, NEVER reserve a room at a hotel that doesn’t show you a photo of the bathroom. We are diamond hilton members and were given a premium room on the 8th floor. If the room we had was premium, we can’t imagine what the other rooms are like. They said it had been renovated and to some extent, it had. The room size was very nice, the bed was fairly comfortable BUT the bathroom only fit 1 person at a time. While the shower had been renovated, it was dirty with a lot of mold around the grout. The toilet looked original and the floor tile and parts of the walls were stained and dirty. We asked for our $15/day to be credited toward our room charge but they refused and suggested we just buy $30 worth of candy. We left without using our room credit. There was a gentleman at the front desk who was nice but the entire female staff couldn’t have cared less about us. It was as if we were bothering them when we asked a question, as simple as what time us check out. We have never stayed at a Hilton property this bad.

Terrible customer service, front desk staff. Unfortunately, still mid trip at this hotel with my elderly father. We are over from England visiting family for my birthday and my father is poorly, so moving hotels not an option. He has been dedicated Hilton diamond member for years. Normally it's brilliant at Hilton. This stay is almost a comedy of errors. There's so many, I'll need to do another review after I've recovered from our morning at the ED. The housekeeping is not great, but has improved after speaking to the general manager (who is incredibly nice and helpful, and organised a gift basket after a terrible start to the holiday). The reception staff could not give less of a toss about anything. I'm semi convinced they wouldn't urinate on you, if you were on fire. Every day, any question is met with disdain, disinterest and disrespect. This hotel is not cheap, but the reception staff (not the younger women, but all the others) talk to you like trash for just wanting basic service. The restaurant and bar staff are fantastic and clearly overstretched. Still they try and do everything they can for you. I worked a long time in retail, and I would've thought, the reception staff might try lighten the load of a single bar/restaurant member. But no....they just say that's how it is and 'suck it up' stare at you, like you're a moron, when you waited for ages to get your recently hospitalised father some food...perhaps, they might help? Crazy notion. I am slow to anger, but even I am pushed to my limit now. I'll talk to the general manager again tomorrow. Today is actually my birthday. Couldn't make it up! So, I'll save the controlled outburst for tomorrow....will try salvage some of the evening by avoiding any communication with the front desk.

Dirty hotel room Stayed here 2 nights and will never be back again. First room they gave us , the bathroom was covered with human hair. Second room was dirty and more hair on bathroom floor. 1 elevator was permanently closed and the only other one was off 1 of the nights so my wife and 2 small kids had to walk up and down 5 flights of stairs. Not worth the money and many other great options in town. We will never stay here again
