The Best Resort in Georgia This resort is the best resort. I cannot say enough about the upscale casual friendly environment. The staff is so welcoming and they go over and beyond to make sure that our stay was perfect. Bart the general manager met us in the ECHO restaurant This is the first hotel I have ever been at a Resort where the GM came by to say hello to guests and ask us about our stay. Denis the food and Beverage director also said hello and told us the History about ECHO and that next year will be the 90th anniversary of the Resort. He gave us a tip that they are planning a special NY Eve event. We can’t wait to come back.

Beware This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. The first time was great. The second time not as good but still ok. This time forget it. It was not good at all. The room was never serviced until we asked 3 times and after 5 pm when we were tired and Sandy from the beach. The coffee maker was broken. Took them over 12 hours to bring a new one. The bathroom shower drain would not drain and there were little ants crawling everywhere despite me cleaning the counter several times. We have stayed in the ocean kings twice and this time oleander building with 2 queens because we brought our dog. They need to step up the service for the price they charge and do some maintenance. It’s shame because it was good the first time we stayed.

High price with poor service Stayed 3 nights in a cabana oceanfront suite for our 45th anniversary. Our stay started great and went downhill from there. We were initially greeted with a complimentary cheese plate and champagne bottle in our room for our anniversary. This was a nice touch and what you would expect from a top-notch resort. After our first day out sightseeing, we returned and found the room only partially serviced. The bed was only partially made up and the sitting room tabletop was not wiped down. We only rec’d one of the two daily complimentary water bottles. Seemed like they were being sloppy with a half-effort. Second day we did not receive any room cleaning at all! We had the do-not-disturb sign out so we could sleep in. The sign was removed by 10:30am. We were then gone all day. Came back and the room was never cleaned. We did not have fresh towels and also never received our daily water bottles. The woman at the front desk had an attitude and said their staff does not come back to check a second time. She said it was my responsibility to call for cleaning. This is terrible service for a 5-star resort. Even Best Western does a better job. There is no turn-down service or other perks that are standard at other high-end resorts charging over $500 a night. Extremely disappointed. The pool attendant handing out towels was always buried in his phone and didn’t even bother to look up at you. He was grumpy and never smiled or greeted anyone with a friendly hello or welcome. Fortunately, the pool bar attendants were much nicer. The prepaid breakfast allows you to order off the menu at the onsite restaurant, Echo, which provides a nice variety of items. The food was pretty good. But given the high prices, poor room service and poor attitude of some of the staff, we won’t be coming back. There are better options at other nearby islands.

What Happened! After staying here for over twenty years, it seems the ole girl is slipping. Arrived around 3:45, and was told our room would be ready between 4 and 6. and they would call/text when ready. NEVER happened. When we finally checked in and went out on the balcony, there were two used coffee cups with four extinguished fags in them sitting on the balcony table. Day two ended with the bottle water, coffee, and coffee cups not being replenished after cleaning the room. Day three ended with the shampoo, conditioner, and the plastic water cups not being replinished. Day four was AS IT SHOULD BE, but on Day 5 we had to seek out coffee because no one replaced the coffee or cups after refreshing the room. When we were here in the Spring there were multiple chairs around the pool tabels missing, and this time there were ever more missing. Hard to eat lunch at a table without a chair. Someone ask why, and was told they wore out and that the K&P had been sold and new mgmt. had not replaced them. For the price we paid the sevice is slipping. Also missed the young folks coming around and taking food and drink orders by the pool. When it's 100 outside in the shade you can sell a lot of liquid!

Come on Owners! Property is Craving an Update! Pro’s: location, beach access, pool, pool bar, food was excellent, staff great- Karen, Steve, JD and Jackie, all fantastic. Con’s: property needs updating, like 5 yrs ago. Air conditioner leaked, carpet was wet the whole stay. Carpet dirty overall. Bed frame squeaked if you sat on the bed or rolled over. Room had a very overall kinda grimy outdated vibe. With room updates this place would be a homerun.
