Clean, Friendly, Good Customer Service We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at the St. Stephen, SC Econo Lodge. Two of our group of three ladies have years of experience traveling to small towns and are accustomed to disappointing motel stays. But this place was not a disappointment! The owner and his wife greeted us warmly and treated us with respect. During our 3-day stay, we asked for assistance with several needs related to the reason for our visit, and regardless of the number of times we interrupted them, they and their employee were kind, helpful, and personable. The facility was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Although prior reviews on this site mentioned breakfast, that was no longer the case (which we knew ahead of time), but fresh coffee was available 6-9am and there is a microwave in each room, and a grocery store nearby. If you require a high-end pillow, you may want to bring your own. It looks like we’ll need at least one more visit to St. Stephen SC. We look forward to staying at the Econo Lodge again!

"Long awaited Fishing Trip Stay" Booked over phone with "TITA" desk rep for Econo Lodge. Location was great for the main purpose of fishing; the CAT's (Blues & Channels) are BIG Here! Booked for 2 weeks and had great time. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were well maintained with clean floors, shower, sink with counter, large flat screen TV. Loved room key card entry system. Key Cards are individual coded to rooms but, also neutral to open building entry/exit doors at any time you want to go venture out. The train runs approx. @ 10:00 p.m. and sometimes later at night. The walls baffle down most of the train noise but the whistle is loud. There is coffee provided each morning. The beds are very thick, soft, with very soft pillows. Pool is more of a wade pool (closed thru Winter/ Early Spring). Some minimal maintenance issues i.e. wall hole plaster patches, a water stain ceiling here & there, and a few wall paint bubble spots. For the Price - This is a great location for quietness and base point to get into mainstay sights of Charleston and surrounding area sights / sounds of Wonderful South Carolina. If you want high society - book a stay at the "Ritz or Carleton" - enjoy your stay of less hustle and bustle at Econo Lodge - Saint Steven.

visiting Family We stayed July 1, 2020 to visit family and have them come back home with us. The hotel grounds were clean and well taken care of. The lobby was also clean and inviting. Clerks were very nice. The room was very clean and the bed was a hotel mattress, very comfortable. We returned with family and stayed again on July 23, 2020.

Wasn't happy but it's a Room if you need one Guest get great prices sometimes. Has Wi-Fi has a quite not feel like your in the hotel alone then. only issues are location there's not much in st stephen and all the workers on the weekends get a little loud. the staff seem to think and treat you like your in jail though at nite they lock it up and let no one in I'm sure there's some fire regulations being overlooked but all in all its a place to sleep if you don't wanna drive 30 minutes longer till you reach another town
