10 course meal and wine pairing We did the 10 course meal with wine pairing, it was amazing. All of the courses were delicious and the wines were very complementary. The pours were generous and course sizes were appropriate. We were told to come hungry and sober. So glad we followed instructions. We will be back!

Great Stay at an Old School B&B My wife and I spent a late-summer Saturday night in the historic Inn's Wilson Room. The accomodations were homey, spacious, clean, and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were tasty. And we found it in a cute, historic town with nearby wineries, shopping, and the Shenandoah National Park. For a memorable stay with old school ambience, we'd definitly recommend the Lafayette Inn.

Delightful Stay Allan and Kaye are great hosts. I loved the size and easy access to my suite. I took advantage of their "book a suite and enjoy a free 3-course dinner on certain summer nights" offer and I wasn't disappointed! The food was delicious! I also enjoyed seeing all of the feral cats on the property. It made me not miss my kitty at home so much! I will return for a future visit!

Relaxing, peaceful, and beautifully decorated! What a wonderful refuge! Tucked away in a charming and historic town, the Inn is owned by a warm and friendly couple who go out of their way to make you feel at home. I visited for my daughter’s graduation weekend, and it was relaxing to return to my peaceful and beautifully decorated hideaway after each day’s activities. Thank you Kaye and Alan for such a wonderful stay!

Definitely not 5 star Spacious room and personable proprietor who greeted us with a bucket of ice and a champagne split, but… 1) there is no way to control room the temperature - it was cold when we checked in, so I asked for the heat to be turned on. Management went somewhere to turn the heat on, but there is no thermostat in the room. So when it got hot in the room we had to call the answering service to have management return to the inn to turn the heat off. (We were the only guests so management did not stick around.) This is not acceptable for a room that costs $200/night. 2) I booked this room because it had a fireplace, but…. it was “closed for the season.” As mentioned, it was 55F when we got there so a fireplace would have been nice and I had paid for it. 3) I picked this inn bc it had a restaurant, but…the restaurant is only open on the weekends and we were there on a Tuesday so had to go elsewhere for dinner. Not a big deal and my fault for not checking the restaurant hours, but I suspect it is quite nice restaurant and the main reason for the frequent 5 star reviews. If you are not getting access to the restaurant and staying only for the room you might want to reconsider your choice. Also, they do offer breakfast with your room rate, but …they do not serve breakfast until 9am, which significantly delays one from getting on with their day. Makes me think they really don’t want to host your breakfast. 4) Bathtub didn’t drain, so we stood in dirty soapy water. 5) no bar soap, no lotion, just 1 single pack of shower gel and one small pack of shampoo. Glad I had a bar of soap with me. Something as simple as offering slightly upscale bath amenities would make a big difference and was expected for the price. 6) Only 1 hanger in the closet. Come on…a pretty simple fix. How cheap can you get?! Would have been nice to be able to hang our wet jackets. (We hiked all day in the rain). So…lovely proprietor, but so so property. For the money, I’d stay elsewhere. 7) Room was a bit dirty.
