Great front desk service from Thea Thea at the front desk was great. She went above and beyond to deliver excellent customer service. She recognized us each time we returned to the hotel and greeted us with such a friendly demeanor. Her town just suffered a pretty significant impact from Hurricane Helene and she still served with a smile and great personality.

Stranded in Statesboro Beware - this hotel cancels reservations without contacting their customers. They have left us stranded, with no hotel room on college move-in weekend - the busiest weekend of the year. I booked the room more than two weeks ago, have a confirmation, and no cancellation. We arrived at 9:00 p.m. and were told that someone should have called us but because I needed to update my credit card information - they cancelled us with zero phone call or email. I know mistakes happen, but they didn’t bother to call us because they knew they’d book the room - because it’s such a busy weekend. Never mind a family being stranded - simply because it was time for me to update my credit card. We have three more years to book hotels in this town, and we will not be booking this one, that’s for sure. After a very long trip from Florida, and a very long day moving our GSU student in, this is what we have to deal with. I never write bad reviews but this is unacceptable - with no offer to make it right. Extremely disappointing and upsetting.

Don’t Stay in Room 224 Don’t stay in room 224. There’s an equipment pipe that runs right under this room. and the room shook all night and there was a low humming noise. I reported the problem in the morning and was told that I should have asked to change rooms in the middle of the night. The room was also rundown and dirty. Horrible service, horrible room, horrible hotel. I used to travel for my work, and between the vibrating room and the bad service, this was one of the worst hotels I stayed in ever.

Extremely Disappointing Stay We recently stayed at this property and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. Despite the initial friendly and accommodating reception, the overall quality of our stay was subpar. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by an overwhelming hospital smell, especially prominent in the bathroom. While the bed was comfortable, it felt like it had a plastic-type cover, making it uncomfortable and noisy. Our requests for coffee pod replenishment went unanswered four days in a row and we were surprised to find that water was only available for purchase at the main reception and was required for the coffee machine. Additionally, the absence of a hair dryer in the room was inconvenient. The breakfast provided was stale and tasteless, prompting us to dine elsewhere after the first morning. The inconsistency in room service was disappointing, with a noticeable decline to zero service over the course of our stay. Reception's response regarding a full-service request was perplexing and added to our overall dissatisfaction. Technical issues with the blinds, including a missing remote and a malfunctioning one, were not addressed despite bringing them to the staff's attention. Even after leaving a review as requested via email, we received no follow-up. In summary, our experience was marked by various disappointments, and we would not choose to stay at this establishment again. Had we not rebooked and paid we would have left and found another hotel for the duration of the stay.

Ritz Carlton prices with Days inn quality. This average hotel was $500 a night bc of parent weekend at Georgia southern. For that money I would expect more. Bathroom shower had black and pink mold. Breakfast ran out of coffee completely. Trash was piled up around the hotel when we returned from the game Saturday night. The staff was friendly and the bed was ok. It should have the money to keep the place clean for the money they gouge from college parents with limited choices of where to stay. Won’t be back.
