Not quite Grand The hotel has some miles on it and I hope they are working to refurbish. The location was good, being a country boy it was quiet for traffic noise and it was clean. Not into nightlife so the tv was important... tv was average to below average. Water pressure was looking suspect for a warm shower in the morning, flushed the toilet and the sink trickled water out of the faucet. Morning shower didn't happen, the water pressure was so low the diverter valve to the shower head would not work. For the premium weekend ( October 4,2024 room 219 ) price I expected an above average breakfast in the morning. Well the orange juice was great ! Eggs were average the cottage potatoes and the eggs needed to be warmer. You need wheat bread not just white bread for toast. I never saw a breakfast host in the room and offerings were running out on a Saturday 8:30 am. Reupholster the breakfast room seat cushions. Overall a below average experience for the franchise.

Not so grand Read the recent reviews, I did not... The hotel is sort of ok but it is very dated, somewhat dirty, and unkempt. We went to Stillwater to stay overnight and have dinner due to an extended power outage at our home in Minneapolis. Our room was ok but needs updating. The bedding seemed clean, but the carpeting was dirty and gross. The TV is 15 years old and small. The AC did its job and was not noisy. The entryway was filthy, and the outside areas were covered with weeds and leaves. Breakfast was almost nonexistent with nothing hot. The almost empty parking lot should have been a clue when the lot for the hotel right next door was full. We have stayed at other Grandstay properties that were far superior to this one.

Never Again Terrible. Highly recommend you spend the extra money to stay somewhere else. Our room smelled like pee and mildew. The tv didn't work. The cereal was stale and the hardboiled eggs were so chewy that they were inedible. I tried to write a review on Google, but that option has been disabled. Very gross. I was scared to sleep in the sheets. I asked for an extra blanket and the front desk receptionist came out with one, saw it was dirty, took it in the back and wiped it off, and then handed it to me. I do not recommend this place.

Beware of scam charges and moldy rooms First room provided was so moldy and mildew filled that it was tough to breathe (Room 121). Offered two alternate rooms - one had sheets that looked as if they had already been slept in - the other was fine. Paid for dog friendly room and paid the additional nightly pet fee, but when my dog had wet paws from the outside he jumped on the bed. Because some surface dirt had transferred onto the sheets they charged an additional $150 fee for damages - for some dirt on the sheets. I asked what was damaged and he said he had pictures of dirty sheets. I said but don't you wash the sheets after checkout? Manager claimed that he washed them in peroxide he went to the store and bought but they had to be thrown away. He had no evidence of the super dirt that could not be washed with a simple run through a cycle on hot water like every other sheet on the planet, just a picture of them dirty before he washed them. Reviews tell similar stories of owner with unauthorized charges and terrible smells - wish I read more of them before staying.

Unfortunate Stay…Health Concerns My wife and I were in town for a wedding and reserved a room under the wedding block. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotels we have stayed at. Fortunately, we were only there for a short period of time. The rooms are extremely dated and there were some cleanliness concerns, especially in the bathroom. The underside of the toilet tank had substantial mold which was concerning from a health standpoint. The ventilation is inadequate, obviously from the mold presence, but also from a cleanliness perspective. The “complimentary” breakfast was extremely poor with limited options and low quality. We would not recommend this hotel and have no interest in ever returning. There are many different options at competitive price points that I’m sure will provide a better experience.
