A comfortable and reasonably priced blast from the past. Charming, adorable, spotless and all of the other superlatives in other reviews apply when describing this place. It is so obvious in the attention to details that the owners and staff take great pride in maintaining this unique motel. Plus I feel that their visitors must be very respectful of the place because everything is in such good shape. The immersion experience begins in the retro lobby when you are handed an actual key on motel branded key chain. So fun. There are only 18 rooms, so it's not far to walk to your room (be aware however that there is no elevator). You pass the little time capsule common area kitchenett on your way if you are on the first floor. Microwave and plenty of glasses and fiesta like dishware and extra coffee supplies if needed (there is also an ice machine in a side room) In addtion to many 50's and 60's decorations, local artists are also hilighted in several mediums. Your retro room has many accomodations bringing the comfort level into this century. The bathroom with original tile, has updated toilet and bathtubs with showers. As a senior, we don't generally book rooms with shower over tub, but the threshhold was low and the grab bars in the right place, plus the bottom of the tub is treated with an anti slip surface. There is a motion detector for the bathroom light for those of us that get up during the night. Beds are comfy. Plenty of outlets to recharge your devices. Coffee in the room. (no breakfast provided, but you have a fridge and you are in walkable distance to many places for breakfast). We found the place to be very quiet with black out curtains for a good sleep. And you will never, ever find friendlier staff.

Renovated retro motel in downtown Sturgeon Bay WI Adorable renovated retro hotel right in walkable downtown Sturgeon bay. Proud ownership shows in the details and clear instructions. Room was comfortable and lobby had guitars and other music items on display. Access to kitchenette for dishes, water, and microwave. Coffeemaker and small refrigerator in the room. Check out the free music concerts in nearby Martin Park and writers night/music next door.

A really cool, quiet motel If you are looking for a no frills, quiet, and very retro motel, this is it. The room was clean, comfortable and very 1960's. I also liked the shower head with several adjustable settings. The glasses on the table and the wine bottle opener were a nice touch. The place just has a neat, throwback feel to it. It also had a small outdoor fireplace if you like to do that sort of thing at night. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Something I thought was really neat was the room has the normal motel binder, but it was also full of menus for at least a dozen local restaurants. I was here alone on business, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back here with my spouse for a few nights.

Truly exceptional ✨ Having heard about it for years, I was finally fortunate enough to visit The Holiday last weekend, and was not disappointed! The management's attention to detail is unlike anything I have seen anywhere else. Everywhere I turned, I was greeted with another example of their thoughtful anticipation of guests' needs. Which way do I turn the key to open the door to my room? Oh, there's a label right there with arrows pointing the way! Likewise with how to open the curtains and the windows, and how to turn on the shower. Then, I looked in the closet on case I needed an extra blanket, and was delighted to see -- drum roll here -- A BOX FAN! OMG, I sleep with a fan at home which means I don't sleep well at all in most hotels. I was soo pleased! Why doesn't every hotel do this?! The fan plus the VERY comfortable mattress AND the black-out curtains thoughtfully supplied with clips to close the gap in the middle afforded me a GREAT night's sleep. Had I needed them, there were several packages of pairs of earplugs in the drawer between the beds. It's like they thought of everything, and such attention to detail really impressed me. I love to see things done right, with care and thoughtfulness, and The Holiday does it right. Can't wait to go back!
