Not the same as before This was my sixth time; and after a series of excellent stays (see all my previous reviews), this one tanked. When I arrived, tired from a long trip, I was second in line at check-in. The sole check-in person was taking a lengthy reservation over the phone. Huh? Isn't that something you have a 1-800 number for? Or an on-line site for? It dragged on. Finally, I spoke up and asked if we might get checked in. Sadly, the person in front of me thought I was too demanding and told me so, as though she were the arbiter of what should pass for acceptable service at a hotel. We quarelled and it did not go well. There was a dog behind the check-in and another couple in an adjacent room, barking. Huh? It was through this lens -- of being tired, of getting into silly squabbles -- that I began to see what other (less favourable) reviewers see here: a hotel that is really half a hotel and half a kind of hospital, where there's a security guard 24/7. It's as though one is going through a hospital to get to a hotel. This didn't bother me before; but I noticed it now. Anyway, I later apologized to the hotel clerk for the quarrel he witnessed and that I recognized that it wasn't his fault. Yet that aside, it just doesn't feel like a hotel to me, anymore. Not sure I'll be staying there again.

Terrible - avoid this hotel. Disgusting. Avoid this hotel. Dirty, shabby rooms, only 2 functioning floors are the hotel - floor 5 - with pets, barking dogs... floor 6 which has a smell and likely was formerly the smoking floor. The middle floors of the hotel are all hospital overspill patients!! Walls are paper thin. People speaking next door sound like they are in my room. Overheard the housekeeping staff berate a newer housekeeper this morning, was being very unkind and bordering on abusive. Staff was unhelpful.. and the same man working front desk at check in (5PM) then later at 11 PM, then the following morning at 8 AM and that afternoon also...? Not a good area, out the window you can see a tent city. Really uncomfortable stay - could go on. Staff would not accommodate letting us check out a day early after so many problems and after finding out about this being a hospital-hotel.

General Manager very rude and unprofessional Customer Service was unacceptable. General manager was very rude when I brought up an issue about parking. Instead of listening to my concerns he raised his voice and told me to leave and called for security. I have never been so dissatisfied with service from a hotel chain in all my years. I am a senior with a physical disability and a handy cap parking pass and was not accommodated instead he had the city ticket me for 30.00 which read “parked on private property without permission” only because I parked in the so called VIP parking which was closer and I did not see any other available handy cap parking. Just a note there was still other VIP parking available if someone needed that service. Unacceptable Derek Weisenberg General Manager.

Well kept Clean, well kept hotel. Room looked great was clean. Not a luxury hotel but definitely well maintained. Would have been nice to have a tub. And unfortunately the onsite restaurant was closed for breakfast on a Sunday. And the front desk person recommended two other restaurants which were also closed. Clearly Sudbury is not hopping on a Sunday morning. :)

I would stay there again, but have some quibbles This hotel was fine. I liked that it was in downtown Sudbury, although downtown Sudbury is a bit rough. I was a bit surprised that it was partially a hospital, which is a sad sign of the times. (And it is depressing having patients smoking outside in the parking lot, only 20-30 feet from the front door.) Our room was clean, and the A/C worked fine. The staff was friendly and helpful, for the most part. The pool was good, and we had it to ourselves. The pub on the main floor is excellent. Two niggles: there should be coffee offered in the main foyer, as going out is a big effort (especially in sketchy downtown); the elevators are very small, and very slow.
