Exceptional Staff and Cozy Comfort My stay at the motel was work-related, and I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions. Situated in a quiet area of Summerside, the motel offers a peaceful environment. However, I have experienced issues with the internet connection, which seem to be correlated with the hotel's occupancy rate. This might be due to a DOS (Denial of Service) situation, where the server or internet interface gets overwhelmed by data packets, causing it to shut down. Despite these issues, the front desk staff worked diligently to resolve the problem and kept me informed of their progress. I explained my need for a stable internet connection for taking online courses after work, and they made every effort to accommodate me. The front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast staff were very interactive and did everything within their control to ensure I had the best experience. First impressions are important, and the main lobby is aesthetically pleasing. The mattresses are very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. To the staff at Days Inn, keep up the good work! :)

Poor management and service The room was fine, but the bathroom was a disaster. I called a staff member for assistance. She attempted to pull the shower pin but couldn't get it to work. She advised me to pull it with full force, and I managed to get it out halfway, allowing some water to flow through the shower. Additionally, the tub faucet kept leaking, and the bathtub was clogged, causing it to fill up with water while I was showering. My son slipped in the tub but fortunately was safe. The breakfast was below standard. The bacon and hash browns were served in the same tray with only a separation. For a vegetarian, this contamination made the food inedible I reported the shower issue to the front desk, but my trip was ruined by their poor management. I will not recommend this place to any of my family members or friends.

Sub-par experience I booked this hotel through Air Miles (which apparently is affiliated with Expedia in some way). I initially booked for two nights but later decided to stay another and made a second reservation. Not a good idea, in hindsight. When we checked in, I explained about that to the young woman at the desk. I was required to give them a $200 deposit on my credit card. I've never had to do that before but usually I book using a credit card and not using Air Miles so perhaps that's standard. The hotel is located at the edge of downtown Summerside in a slightly sketchy neighbourhood. There may or may not be a nice view from the other side of the hotel but our third floor room overlooked the Royal Canadian Legion bar. I didn't hear anything as I had earbuds in when I slept but my son said the noise from the people smoking outside the bar was pretty loud. The decor was ok and I did like that the window shade had a sort of mural on it. The fridge was larger than a mini fridge, which was nice. There were two queen beds and a desk with a couple of drawers and a single desk chair. There was nowhere else to sit but on the beds. The mattresses were pretty comfortable but were on top of a metal sheet of some sort and when you get up, the metal buckles and makes a heck of a noise as it vibrates. Took us two days to figure out where the noise was coming from. The bathroom was pretty standard except the tub had a sort of channel down the middle, presumably to help the water along when draining?? My son slipped and nearly fell because it was such an odd configuration. I decided to get a bath. The back of the tub was straight up and incredibly uncomfortable to lie in. Also, the bottom of the tub had some kind of grit imbedded in the paint, presumably to prevent slipping. Something like you'd find around a swimming pool. That was very uncomfortable to sit or lie on so I gave up on that. Wouldn't have been nice for a small child to have a bath in. So far, it was just ok, but the best was yet to come. I was awakened on the second morning by the phone ringing but by the time I figured out it was the room phone and not my cell, they had hung up. A few minutes later (it was around 11:30), there was a knock on the door and a cleaner said he was there to clean as we were leaving that day. We weren't leaving because of the extra day I booked and I told him that. He went away and a few minutes later, he knocked again. I was getting a little annoyed by all of this as I was barely awake and was wearing pajamas. The man didn't speak much English and was saying something about the phone. I couldn't understand what he wanted and then the phone rang so I closed the door and answered the phone. I was told they had no reservation for our third night and I explained again. They asked me to email them my confirmation which I did and then we set about getting ready for the day. As we left, the woman at the desk said they were trying to figure out with Expedia what was going on. Whatever. I had my confirmation and my Air Miles were gone as was the money I paid for the tax for three night, so I wasn't concerned. Late afternoon we returned to the hotel and my son went upstairs to relax while I went to find a place to eat. He called me a few minutes later to say the key card didn't work so I went back to the hotel and talked to the not-very-nice woman (maybe the manager) to see what was happening. It seems they had found the second reservation but needed another $200 deposit for THAT reservation before giving us a working key card. I said they could just hang on to the deposit they already had but that wasn't "policy" and the first one wouldn't be released for three or four business days. I heard the word "policy" many times in the conversation/disagreement that followed. Finally, I snapped and said we'd be leaving and asked to be let in the room. More arguing before they finally gave us a card. I said I would be wanting a refund for the day we weren't going to be there but that wasn't "policy", either. At that point, we walked away and packed up. When we left I put the card on the desk as we passed by. This all happened on a Monday and yesterday (Saturday) the refunded deposit finally showed up on my credit card. I waited until that happened before writing this review. I was worried they'd try and keep the deposit or add a second one. We made sure to take pictures before we left in case they tried to say we had stolen or damaged anything. If all this hadn't happened I would probably have given a three star review as mostly the hotel and staff were just adequate. When you're in the service industry, you need to know how to bend a little and not act like you have a policy stick up your behind. Obviously, we will never go there again.

No cable on TV This appears to be an older location that has been non-professionally renovated. (2 inch gaps in the flooring in the dining area, broken tiles, wood missing from doors, etc. Minimal lighting. TV but no cable so you can't actually watch anything except youTube. Bed was comfy but it was on a thin metal ?shelf? that constantly made noise as you moved. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was good.
