The Belfry

My fantastic birthday experience An unforgettable experience at one of the suites to celebrate my fiftieth birthday with my family. The staffs were amazing, the facilities were fantastic especially the SPA and the brabazon sandwiches are a must.

Sleepless Having travelled 7 hrs to be at an event we chose to spend £200 on a so called 4 star hotel. What we didn't foresee was the party time with band and loud music starting at 2300 till 0200. At 0040 we gave up and called downstairs to ask if the party we thought in the room below is could be stopped turns out it was a regular thing in the lobby that came all the way to the room. The duty manager came up promptly but became apparent she knew what the issue was as she asked if we would like to move rooms straight away. 0200 moved rooms 0430 new MANAGER WOKE US UP BY BLARING A TELLY MESSAGE TO THE ROOM WELCOMING US ???. On check out we were met with a disingenuous manger lacking integrity. Saying that they doubted the noise could be heard in the original room but a quick search on here proves that theory wrong. They apparently are issuing a 50%refund however seen as they have knowingly deceived us and having proof of this being a common thing at the resort we will be seeking a full refund. A hotel is meant to give you 1 thing a pleasant nights sleep away from home not a all inclusive rave to which you do not want. A so called 4 star hotel being decidedly average.

Lazy Sunday spa day included lunch and over night stay. Had a fabulous massage by Chantana . She was very knowledgeable and skilled. Sunday lunch in Ryder grill was good quality. However the gentleman host was a bit grumpy and needs to work on his skills to be more welcoming to customers

Great food, good leisure facilities but needs a few extra touches Had a lovely overnight stay with a friend. The facilities, pool and food were excellent but some other things could have been better. The hotel is set in nice quiet location. The relaxed vibe was somewhat ruined in the evening by loud music being played in the bar area right next to reception. After a nice relaxing afternoon in the pool and a fantastic dinner we had to go through this area to get back to our room. We did find a quieter area down in Sam's bar which was closed but we sat in there in a much calmer area to chat. A quieter lounge/bar open in the evening would be useful (it may exist but is not evident on the limited information we were given. Not everyone wants to party with loud music. On arrival the receptionist rushed through telling us where our room is and details for our booked meals. We were given "map" of the site which is like an aerial photo with places marked on it. It is not very useful for finding your way around. Luckily there are lots of signposts around the building. There was also no information pack in the rooms (or even an electronic guide on the tv - a video tour might have been a useful resource for people who have never been there before) about facilities (opening times, breakfast times etc). There are also various signs around the site indicating areas where you could not smoke or vape and instructions to use designated areas. I did not find any designated area during our stay (and it wasn't on the map), so like several others I sat on the benches outside the entrance (by a sign saying that this was not a smoking area), or on the balcony outside Sam's. As usual the tea tray had insufficient supplies of milk and only one coffee bag for 2 guests. Luckily I don't drink coffee, but for 2 people drinking an average of 2-3 cups a day they should provide enough tea, coffee and milk for 6 cups without us having to get extra supplies from reception (or phone for supplies). In reality they supplied enough milk for 3 cups and enough coffee for 1. The tissue box in the bathroom only had 1 tissue in it. Surely this should be checked and refilled before guests check in. The staff in Ryder's were first rate, The food was first-rate. My only criticism would be the over-enthusiasm to clear plates as soon as you finished with them. Also had to wait a while and ask a second time for the dessert menu. Overall it was a nice relaxed atmosphere and we did not feel rushed like you feel in some hotels.

The Belfry never disappoints This was my 4th stay at The Belfry and it never disappoints. The facilities are fantastic, the rooms high quality and very clean and all the staff are friendly and helpful. It was an overnight stay with use of the spa including a treatment. The evening meal and breakfast was good, the hotel was very busy and breakfast was extremely busy but somehow the staff manage to keep things stocked and tables cleared with great efficiency. Can’t wait for my 5th visit !
