Best hotel in the Midlands Fantastic hotel, made extra special by the friendly Christina at reception who went above and beyond to accommodate my requests, especially after she recognised me from a previous recent stay. Food is incredible, rooms are spacious and clean. Televisions have a wide range of channels, including Sky.

Too busy Shocked is an understatement at our stay at The Belfry. Arrived at 3pm to absolute total and utter chaos. Car park heaving and full of pot holes. Bar so packed there is no where to sit. A queue for reception that lasts 25+ minutes. People pushing in from all directions. No space in the restaurants. The pool full of kids and rowdy parties. It is more like a butlins/pontins than a 4 star hotel. Way to busy for can't seem to handle the anount of guests booked. Avoid if you want a relaxing night away.

Poor Spa Break A friend and I had a spa break here over a Saturday night in mid-November. The spa was so full that there was nowhere to sit (despite the best efforts of a member of staff). No lockers were available, either, so we had to leave our bags at the front desk. The spa itself looks tired and dated. There are tiles missing from the bottom of the pool. A jacuzzi was out of use, as was at least one station of the 'Fire and Ice' experience. We had not received a pre-arrival email. I had to buy a pair of flipflops for £5 when I could easily have brought a pair from home. The spa restaurant closed very early. At dinner we opted to use our a la carte allowance of £25 each rather than have the buffet. Our food was not cooked as ordered and one dish had to be sent back. When it returned everything else was cold. The food was mediocre and several other tables around us were complaining. After our plates had been cleared we sat and waited to order pudding. The waiting staff ignored us so we left and went to bed. When we were actually IN bed, the room phone rang and a very abrupt member of staff said that we had left without paying our bill and needed to return to the restaurant. When I asked for it to be charged to the room bill, I was told that it was not possible. This is rather puzzling given that the hotel also offers room service. The member of staff literally ordered us back to pay the bill. My friend got out of bed and went back down. At this point a manager took over and, given our experience, wrote off the bill. We felt that this was a reasonably fair outcome though of course £50 of the cost of our break had been notionally allocated to dinner. Our room was reasonable, though looking tired, and the shower was stuck at such a high temperature that it was impossible to stand under it. Breakfast on Sunday morning was chaotic. At one point there was a queue of around 30 people trying to get hot food. I filled in a feedback questionnaire and asked the hotel to respond but we have had no reply. I'm sure that the golf courses are fabulous, but the rest is ripe for significant improvement, notably the management of guest numbers. The mantra seems to be pile 'em in and hope for the best.

Excellent ! Bottomless Brunch at the Belfry is the very best around. I’ve been to several bottomless brunches and they are no match for this one. The way it is organised is amazing and no waiting around for drinks or food … everything is there for you to help yourself ! There is entertainment, which is superb, and they involve all the guests. It’s just a fantastic experience !
