Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Talladega by IHG

Pretty good stay Stayed for work for 3 nights. This is 2nd time at this hotel foe work. Location is good with many options for food and stores including Walmart close. Overall nice stay. King room with couch, desk, small fridge, microwave, etc. Room was mostly clean with a few exceptions that need attention. The bathtub has mold in the corner that needs addressed. Floors need to be deep cleaned. Carpet was showing dirty areas and tile floor in entry and bathroom needed to be mopped. I sanitized and wiped down surfaces and touch areas myself and wipes were black when done. Seems cleaning could be better overall. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and LeAnn in particular went above and beyond. Did not use pool or eat at breakfast. Overall not a bad stay, just need to do a better job with housekeeping.

Perfectly Adaquate Stay Stayed for a week for work and overall things were pretty good. Hotel was not that busy while I was there and many rooms were empty. Good location with lots of stores and restaurants close by. Had room 211, King bed with desk, couch, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Hotel seems newer and lobby and breakfast area was nice. Outdoor pool only so it was closed. Room was cleaned ok. I did sanitize and wipe down surfaces myself upon arrival and noticed the wipes were a little dirty so surfaces could be cleaned better. Carpet needed to be cleaned as well. Overall though was alright. I opted for NO room cleaning for my stay and just picked up fresh towels at front desk as needed. Breakfast was average. An egg and meat choice (sometimes 2), breads and muffins, make your own pancakes, cereal, sweet rolls oatmeal and bananas. Juice was available (though not on 1st day for some reason). Had yogurt, milk, and hard boiled eggs in fridge, but after 2nd day they had 1/2 gallon of milk for everyone to share instead of individual serving cartons. Found that meat and egg choices were empty when I tried to get them more than once even though hotel was not busy at all. Evening front desk staff was awesome and helpful. Day shift a little clueless though. Bad weather hit while I was there and threatened tornados (one touched down about 20 minutes from hotel). Being from out of state I had asked day shift front desk where we would go if things got bad and she had no clue. She told me most people just go to Walmart. Had to laugh. I would expect much better emergency preparedness training at a hotel with so many guests lives on the line. Overall it was an adequate stay for my needs and I would consider staying here again if the need arose. Only other hotel I saw around was a Motel 6 and some other no name motel.

Raceday Plain and simple...no frills (and none expected). Just a place to rest for the evening...nothing special. Good enough for the boys and I. Breakfast was lacking...expected more here but was missing a lot of the normal expectations (was only cereal, eggs, and sausage...for the most part).

Bare bones basic hotel Don't expect any amenities. Our room had broken lock so we were moved to a suite which was more basic than the king size room. We had requested a top floor room but we were given a 2nd floor room because the 3rd floor was full. Well when our lock didn't work we were moved to the top floor...I am not sure how that worked. I wonder if Spire Elite means anything to vendors. Next the breakfast was, sorry, but terrible. The eggs were overdone and cold. Over all just an average, clean hotel.

Don't stay here! I don't even know where to begin. The hotel is doing a remodel. I thought that it would be in only certain areas of the hotel, but no. The entire lobby is a mess. The floor has no tile. There is a chair in the middle of the floor covering a hole. Be aware and watch your step. There are people there sanding the walls, with breakfast in the midst of it. What is breakfast you may ask, a coffee container. No bags were given to my family for a grab and go as advertised. The hotel is only 3 floors and even upstairs when you get off the elevator there are construction workers there also. Sanding all around the ice machine, elevator.. JUST EVERYWHERE. When I finally arrived in my room, there was a partial bowel movement left in the toilet complete with gnats!!! It was disgusting!!! Please do not stay here and travel up the road a few miles. Other details I left out: The regular price for the room is $150 without a discount. The manager never contacted me. Construction starts promptly at 0800 in the morning,
