A hidden gem! I've had some experience with this hotel and was pleasantly surprised to see all the upgrades on this visit. The rooms have been completed renovated and modernized to include laminate wood floors, granite-like bathrooms including a rain showerhead, and new bedding. The amenities are basic. No lavish breakfast buffet but instead fresh bagels, sweet pastries, coffee, and juice. The hotel is situated within walking distance of shopping, a few restaurants, and a city park. The husband and wife owners live on-site and are attentive to every need. My stay was 4 weeks and I felt more like a friend or family rather than the average guest. They went so far as to make sure I had the plain bagels I like. When it was time to checkout, I was given a ride to catch my connection to Jacksonville. This service speaks to the great overall experience. True hospitality!

Very Surprising how nice it is! When we drove up there was construction going on, so wasn't sure what to expect. The room had been renovated and was very nice. The king bed was very comfy, the new bathroom was a pleasant surprise. The location is perfect for visiting the state capitol and was in walking distance. I would definitely recommend this motel and also it seemed like a very safe area. Restaurants were just down the street from the motel. We ate at Chipotle's

Nice Motel, Good Location When we drove into the parking lot, we were underwhelmed. And when I went in the tiny lobby to check in, I asked the man behind the counter if they had nice rooms. Like a character in a TV comedy, he mumbled something about how we could find a nicer place but we'd have to pay a couple hundred more dollars. He never laughed, smiled, or said thank you. But when we walked into our large room with a king bed and love seat, we were impressed. And the exposed, stained wooden beams and ceiling were very pretty and quite unusual for a motel. The price we paid (I think around $75 a night plus tax) was good for Tallahassee, and the little fridge and microwave, and good hot water and water pressure in the bathroom made this a good find. We will come back in spite of the not-so-friendly staff and the sparse continental breakfast.

The rooms are dark and dismal We booked this last minute as a stop over from New Orleans to Fort Lauderdale, we had planned on driving all the way back to Lauderdale, but changed our minds at last minute. It looked nice online, and was cheap enough, it looked ok on arrival, brightly painted. They had given us a smoking room on arrival, but we said we would not accept, did not realise we had to click a dial to request non smoking, we got room 11 at end of lower block. No windows at front, only door. On entry the room was so dark, the toilet is at door, then you go into a large room, curtains were shut over, we opened them and the light was no better as there was a tor/hill behind the hotel, and the windows were mud splattered. I also got a fright when a lizard ran along the window frame, inside the room, my husband got the window open and the lizard went along it's way. There is no main light in the room, only 5 lamps, and even with these on the room was still dark. The ceilings were dark mahogany wood and the walls were dark green and avocado green, floor was dark mahogany too. All dark and dismal. The bathroom was painted white. The room was clean apart from lizard, the dead bug and the dirty windows, don't know if the mud was thrown up with grasscutter, but there were footprints outside the window. The sheets were clean the bed was comfortable and the room was dark enough for sleeping. I did put my suitcase and a chair up against the door. There was an inch opening at the bottom of the door, where the lizard probably got in and the bug (small roach). Breakfast was minimalist, cereal, pastries, orange juice (albeit empty when I got there) coffee.
