Enchanting A night away in an enchanting place, a photo opportunity around every corner, up every stone staircase, through every doorway. Good service, and good food. I’ve come to expect nothing less from this hotel group, but this is a fairytale destination, through the woods to castle gates and beyond.

Totally let down Total let down and poor customer service from their restaurant. I booked a special meal for my daughters 30th birthday, all confirmed through an email. This was booked in June for August Bank Holiday. 4 days before I decided to phone to check my reservation only to be told my reservation should of been cancelled as they do not open Sunday evening. 1, why dud thry let me book the table for a Sunday evening and confirm it through an email. 2, no email sent to cancel it and they had since June
3, where was I going to book somewhere special at this short notice.
All I got from them was "this is not normal for our customer service ". They weren't even bothered , didnt even try to offer me something earlier in the day. Was very looking forward to going but won't be going there. Spoilt the celebration weekend. Thank you Peckforton Castle top marks not.

Peckforton- beautiful place- falls short..... Don't get me wrong this is a beautiful , enchanting place to stay.. but it would have been useful to have had an abseil set up to get from our room back to the ground floor....the trek up to the room was exhausting. No one at reception asked it we'd need any help.the stairs / Inc spiral were littered with paper ,, tells me no staff venture up there unless they have to.
Back downstairs, the indoor bar was closed, so outside, lovely and sunny , just fancied a packet of crisps.. it was 4 pm and not eating tll 8....no snacks.....anywhere, 'the chefs were not on duty ' didn't get that, don't need a chef to hand out snacks...

Wedding Stay I recently attended my granddaughters wedding at Peckforton Castle, we stayed the evening before which was amazing, the whole family were seated together for a five star meal that remains a topic of conversation. The food was impeccably served, piping hot and very professionally delivered by a team of servers that were faultless, everyone at our table had a perfect pre wedding experience. The wedding day chapel was absolutely beautiful no effort had been speared to ensure it was perfect for the happy couple and guests, it was magical. After the service nibbles, Canapé and very thoughtfully ice lollies were distributed regularly because it was a very hot day on the lawn, so thoughtful. The wedding breakfast which was a three course meal again was five stars and served to the whole room at the same time so we could all start our meal together, amazing efficiency. Our room was charming, comfortable, a gorgeous view, top notch service and a queen bed, really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was also amazing with many items available for every appetite, fresh bread including sour dough being one of them. Full English was our choice, absolutely perfect before our journey home. Our breakfast waiter Chris just completed our happy stay with his big smile and willingness to go the extra mile for everyone, in fact all of the staff we encountered were very nice, will definitely go back to stay again, thank you Peckforton you all made our stay memorable.

Beautiful Setting, Excellent Staff – Let Down by Rooms & Food We were really looking forward to returning to Peckforton Castle after attending a lovely wedding here a few years ago, but sadly our stay was disappointing.
Our first room (106) was damp, musty, and smelt strongly of sewage. The bathroom had mould, and there were clumps of body hair in the corners. Fixtures and fittings were very tired and worn. By the second night the smell was unbearable, but thankfully reception staff were excellent and moved us to a cleaner room.
Food was the biggest letdown. Dinner in the Brasserie looked nice but tasted poor and mass-produced – the aubergine starter was undercooked, the dessert tasteless, and the mains felt more like reheated pub meals than restaurant quality. Breakfast wasn’t much better: overcooked eggs, porridge that was lukewarm but served in a scorching hot bowl (and I was told to carry it over to the continental section myself as they couldn’t provide honey or sugar at the table), plus avocado that tasted like supermarket guacamole rather than the advertised smashed fresh avocado – disappointing, especially as it was charged as an additional cost. After one poor dinner and one poor breakfast, we chose to eat out locally the next day, which was far better.
The staff throughout – reception, bar, and restaurant – were genuinely brilliant: helpful, friendly, and professional. The service was a highlight in what was otherwise a very underwhelming stay.
