Being remodeled Hotel is in major renovation which we had no knowledge of, pulled up and thought it was closed. We had prepaid. No amenities like ice breakfast or extra pillows. Had to park in back, was scary. Bed was comfortable and room remodeled. Awake alot during night and early morning due to slamming doors, they are heavy and don't stay open. They did accept our dog for a fee. For the price they charge I would pick another hotel until they are completely open..

Not Ready for Primetime We were attending a convention at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, and this hotel was recommended. To our surprise, the hotel was undergoing a major renovation. The hotel is in an office park, and we were directed to a back door. No lobby. No restaurant. The coffee maker didn’t work. The shower only released a dribble of water. The floor near the AC unit was soaking wet in the morning. When completed, the hotel may be up to par, but they should not have been booking guests before it was ready. Very disappointing.

Basically Nothing Works Stayed six days and room and beds were OK. Free WiFi is non existent in room or hotel, went down to lobby and sat across from the desk and WiFi still didn't work. Signal shows a couple bars and you get a message that you are connected without internet. Nothing works, vending machines, ice machines they're in darkness. Six days nothing changed so there's no effort to fix things or the internet. Staff is friendly but I won't be back.

No Extras Arrived on a Saturday evening after exploring Salem for a girls trip. We checked out our room which initially looked ok. The girl working the front desk said there was working vending which there was not, she said the only working ice machine was the one in the kitchen of the restaurant which is closed until their inspection which was no problem, however when we went on Sunday to ask for ice it was a problem that we asked the morning girl for ice. We were also told by the evening girl that we would have wash cloths as soon as the wash was finished. Sunday morning we went down to retrieve the wash clothes since we still did not receive them and the morning girl replied with “our washer is down” just rub the soap on you. I get remodeling but if your hotel is not able to be fully functional do not rent rooms.

This unbranded hotel has a lot of potential, but it's just not there yet. We made our reservations when this was a Holiday Inn and it is now an independent facility transitioning to become a Hilton Garden Inn. In it's day this was a top notch facility with a restaurant, function rooms, indoor pool and fitness center. Surprised when we arrived that the Holiday Inn signs were all covered in white canvas. The pool and restaurant were closed and we were told there would be no Holiday Inn points awarded. Talk about bait and switch. The whole facility is tired and the old girl is in need of a face lift. There were ants in the bathroom (a 5th floor room no less so the little buggers needed to take quite a hike). There was mold on the ceilings not only in the bathroom but aslo in the bedroom and the paint was chipped. The elevator had fingerprints and the walls were well worn. Even the pavement to the main entrance was chipped and in need of renewal. I do give them points for having a comfortable bed and the staff seemed to be trying to do their best under the circumstances. It appears that Hilton will be doing some sorely needed updating as this place has a lot of potential. The location is convenient, the rooms are good sized, and they have good people on the front line staff. It just needs an infusion of TLC. The window in our room looked over the roof of a lower part of the building which showed the rusty covers on the roof A/C units and rusty pipes. The wall temperature control thermostat did not work so you had to fiddle with the manual controls on the below window unit in order to hopefully find a comfortable setting. I can see why Hilton was reluctant to put their name up quite yet, but I also can see where this place could really shine with some investment upgrades to bring it back to its former glory.
