Mostly a Good Experience This was our second stop on our way from Toronto to Punta Gorda Florida. This was our first long trip with our 9 month old puppy. We’ve found in the past that Red Roof Inn’s are pretty much a crap shoot when it comes to the condition of the hotel. Honestly it’s hard to complain when paying the rate they have (last night we paid $50 extra at a Hampton Inn for the dog!) however we’ve experienced situations in the past where our safety was at risk. Happy to report that this Red Roof Inn was a good experience for the most part. The staff at the front desk was friendly and efficient and the lobby looked clean and tidy. Se requested a first floor room because of the dog and was instructed to head down a driveway where our room was next to the pool. We were quite happy when we entered the room. The room was clean and no carpet anywhere to be found. Decent area for the dog to sniff around and do his business. I don’t know if the pool was open or not but it looked extremely dirty to me. The grounds were well kept and clean. So far extremely happy with the surroundings for the price we paid. Now for the negative. We had a drunk guy right next door who played his old time country tunes full blast from 8:15 pm until 11:00 pm. He accompanied the music by belting out the tune (I mean screaming out) along with the song. We were exhausted from our drive and in bed around 830 trying our best to ignore the noise. It was before 1100 pm so the noise bylaw didn’t factor in here but just common courtesy (he petted our pup so he knew we were next door) would have been nice. We contemplated calling the front desk and requesting another room however we we settled in and in our pj’s so didn’t really want to haul our gear elsewhere. You can’t blame a hotel for the quality of its guests however I think the room rates attract some less desirable people staying there. It’s too bad because this RFI was decent overall.

Nasty, filthy hotel DO NOT use until you see your room! Horrible , pictures say it all. We found a room online that looked much different than the one they posted. No one cared about our complaints. We stayed there only because it was the only hotel in town after the hurricane that we could find. Only out of desperation. They jacked the prices up by 50 bucks. Nasty place, filthy, disgusting, place!!! The owners should be ashamed of their selves for not cleaning these rooms correctly it’s like they could care less about our complaints. Roaches found… just few my pics for the rest. You will see what I mean ….

If you go here just know they are racist This was terrible because of only one lady that works there she is a horrible person my mother had gotten rooms here before but this women always gives us problems once she told Us that they don’t have any rooms after we already book and payed online that was the first encounter we had with this woman so we couldn’t get a room that night and had to sleep in the car we got a room the next week cause she wasn’t working in and then there was this other time she was there and we booked a room she saw three people in the car which were me my sister and my dad which were all on the reservation she asks my mother with the most nastiest attitude if “all those people in the car were staying “ and then last night where she told my mother she canceled our reservation even though we paid for it all ready so we had to sleep in the car another night so we just called red roof and they said they were going to hold us a room till the morning we get to the hotel we get there and the lady tells us that they don’t do third part reservations which is bullcrap because we have been getting rooms there from third parties like hopper and we’ll just hopper but this particular time we got it from the red roof website and that’s dang sure not a third party but the damn lady wouldn’t give us the room just don’t go here at all __‍♀️ and if you ask why we kept going it’s because the only place we could afford

Stay ANYWHERE else. I don't expect much from Red Roof, but in the past they have always been clean and cheap. Not this location. I reserved a "superior" room. I was greeted by filthy, not just worn and stained, but filthy ripped and torn couch with a broken lamp with a stained shade next to it and a three-legged table wedged against the desk along the other wall. The toilet seat was broken, the tissue dispenser empty and the coffee maker didn't work. Of course, the only ice machine in the entire building was out of order and my complaints at the desk were responded to with a half-smile from an embarrassed girl behind the counter. The best part? They advertise "New Rooms." When I read reviews, I take put the best and the worst to get an average. That didn't work this time. You may have better luck than I did, but this is what you might get.
