Medical get-a-way We go to Traverse City for 99% of our medical needs, and since this normally takes a big part of our day up there, we would like to add an overnight Howard Johnsons reasonable fall rate, which was the biggest part of choosing them. The plus was they still had their outdoor pool open, our fall days have been in the upper 70s-80s. The pool was a wonderful way to relax after a busy day. The hotel is close to many restaurants and close to downtown. We enjoyed staying there the area is great, and we will returning..

Try another place that cares about customers They have a heater next to a ceiling in the upper corner of the room farthest away from the window. (Hot air rises, so that is already not a good sign). It did not work, and the front desk to wait thirty minutes after giving me instruction over the phone rather then send maintenance. When maintenance finally came the next morning, they told me that they had to reset it at the main office. That was not helpful to me, who was freezing all night and did not get much sleep. Also, they recently updated the decor, and it looks really tacky.

Very disappointed Staff was not helpful and unfriendly. I had reserved 4 rooms and they insisted I only had one. The staff behind the counter asked me to move out of the way so they could help the other customers and didn’t even try to look at my reservation I had in my email that I was trying to show them. My husband and I figured out what the problem was and the staff seemed almost frustrated to have to help me again. Then part of my party got to their room and the staff was still cleaning it (at 10pm at night). They asked if they could help so they could get it it heir room quicker and the staff members actually asked them to go start on another room for him. So my friends graciously cleaned another room that wasn’t even theirs _ Not pleased at all with the stay

Good location I did not know they only clean room upon request. After found out, I made request, but took them forever to show up and started to clean . Also, the staff came to clean my room and looked so angry (not friendly) which confusing us. Not sure what was wrong? Suggest - never make request in the hotel for clean room.

Pleasantly Surprised... The staff here was wonderful! - especially Angee. Her and Elsa were very accommodating - making sure to attend to any of our requests. Also, although this place is dated, I can tell that staff is doing their best to keep it well maintained. (The company should take responsibility to remodel/update the place soon.) Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised regarding the following controllable factors other than the decor: The beds were decently comfortable, water pressure plus temperature was very good in the showers, the towels were rather soft, the toiletries smelled good, and breakfast was decent. [Would have given it a 5-star rating if it had been more updated.]
