Great place to stop in Tucumcari Very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, very clean, and the breakfast was excellent. Conveniently located near the highway, and near a Super Walmart. Much better than the Hampton Inn across the way, which was poorly kept, when we stayed there last year. Would definitely return to this Holiday Inn express.

No bueno The rooms are ok semi quiet. A little scuff marks, normal wear and tear that looks like it hasn’t been repaired in awhile. If you are someone that is on a work trip and relies on a good breakfast and work out room this is definitely not your hotel… Fitness room needs a major make over, it smells old and moldy. Not to mention how it all looks stained and really outdated. I thought I would be ok with it or get used to the smell while working out but only lasted 15 min until I was comfortable and unbearable. Breakfast is a 2/10. The effort isn’t there, kinda feels like a dirty and in cared for environment. Won’t be staying here again.

Why is average this expensive? Stayed here on a Monday night. Room 325. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, hotel was quiet tho a bit of noise from I40. There was previous damage in the bathtub; tile broken open around the faucet. Hotel had the usual Holiday Inn Express amenities. I assume the hotel is older but has been remodeled as the lobby area was small and cramped, and the outside was ragged with age and usage. All of this for $182 for the night. I don't know if it's the ridiculous "dynamic pricing" strategy taking over America, or if the chain hotel industry are colluding to increase revenue - but $180+ US dollars for a night at an average hotel in a small rural town off an interstate is insane at the least and highway robbery at the most.

Nice stay but some detail issues The building looks new on the outside and as you walk in. But, room 232 had some issues. The heat kept running and was too hot even when the temp was turned way down. We finally had to just turn it off. To their credit, the staff was extremely responsive and came up within 15 minutes of being called about the heater. They have a nice parking lot that could accommodate the trailer we were towing. Our room door was VERY squeeky. There was some age showing in the bathroom. The pool had grunge around the top so it obviously had not been scrubbed in a while. But, it was truly the warmest hotel pool I've been in. That was nice. In fact, the pool was warm but that meant the hot tub was almost too hot. There were no hooks for towels in or around the bathroom. They have extra night lighting above the headboards and closet (armoire). There were lots of outlets which was nice. Lots of flat spaces in the room for storing luggage, working, etc. We stayed in the 2 queen bedroom and it was plenty of room for our family of 4. The safe in our room was locked and so couldn't be used by us. There were loose floor tiles by the door. My husband said he saw rodent droppings in the fitness room. They have a decent breakfast with hot and cold foods. All in all, I'd stay her again but there are some facility maintenance/upkeep things they need to work on.

Efficient, comfortable, friendly hotel for a road trip stop It's difficult to provide in depth feedback for a hotel where one has spent less than 7 hours when simply passing through on a road trip, as was the case on our visit here this past October. We arrived very early in the morning after a 10 hour drive and were away again before 8am. We called the hotel to let them know how late we would arrive and the staff were friendly then and when we interacted with them on arrival. We were able to find the property easily, it is very convenient for the interstate, and were able to check in quickly and there was plenty of parking. All of these things are a must when on a one night roadtrip stay and the hotel did them well. The room we had was very comfortable and we all slept well for the short night we were here. There was breakfast laid on from early and there was a pretty good selection although it was disappointing that the pancake machine was inoperative that morning as I was intrigued to give that a try. There was a good choice of oatmeal, baked goods, breads and more hearty fare as well, so everyone should find something them like. We ate quickly and were on our way although the dining area is a pleasant place to eat breakfast. Overall the hotel was clean and efficient and the staff helpful which for me, on this stop, was all I wanted as I imagine is the case for most guests here. It must be hard to run a hotel which is basically for one night stays as the short time most people are under your roof means that everything must be good because we just want to sleep, eat in the morning and be on our way without delays or fuss and the Holiday Inn did this very well for our stay. I can't imagine I will pass through Tucumcari very often but if and when I do I will certainly be happy to reside here again.
