Pleasant one night stay We had a pleasant stay here for one night on a road trip. Check in was friendly and efficient by Dylan. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was great! Instant hot water. The breakfast had the usual selections of eggs (premade omelette but they were adequate), toast etc. the coffee was actually good! Friendly kitchen staff. All in all we were happy with our time there.

Good choice Sean at check in was helpful. The lady who worked after him was also helpful when we had trouble with the washing machine. The breakfast buffet line is small, but had a good selection. The dining area is big enough, but I think they are making some changes to the space. The pool was fine. There is no hot tub.

Horrific Experience! We spent 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express. We had points to use from our son's wedding hotel almost a year ago, we did pay the balance. The room was dark and dingy, it needs a total renovation. The bathroom was not good, the ceiling had all been badly patched and there was absolutely nothing in the bathroom except way, way, way to left of the vanity, on the wall, two dispensers you could barely reach. First thing we noticed was the constant flow of people coming and going next door, each time the door slamming shut. This went on for a long time. The walls are paper thin I could hear them talking. I turned on the TV, volume up so it wasn't as bad, except for door slamming! The ceilings have no soundproofing whatsoever! There was a constant pounding, jumping and running for hours. It was obvious it was young kids up there or small elephants. After an hour of trying to go to sleep we called the front desk. It was very late, we didn't check in until 9pm, by now it was 10:30 and it went on and on into the wee hours of the night! We were told they would go up to the room and speak to them. It never stopped, we called the desk again, they said they had gone up and would go again. It was so loud until way past 1 in the morning! We did not get much sleep at all. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else. I filled out the email from IHG hotels, checked off the box to email me when it posted and low and behold, never received anything from Holiday Inn.

UConn graduation We were up for UConn graduation. The hotel was right off the highway, easy to get to. The rooms were clean, comfortable and check in was also easy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. If I'm in the area again I will totally stay at this hotel again.

Time For Another Update - Renovation I stayed here for a single night while in the area on business. The hotel is easy to find in a busy area, but nothing is really "walkable" due to the road being quite busy with no side walks. When I checked in I had a feeling I had been here before and it turns out I was. Looking back over the property's Tripadvisor reviews, I found I reviewed this place back in 2012 and didn't have many good things to say. Reviews starting in 2013 mention the property had been updated, which is really needed. Unfortunately I think its time for a renovation again. The room is average in size but dated: small tv, cheap desk chair, noise comes through the walls, door and the window let a lot of road noise in. A power outlet on the table (desk) labelled "Power Outlets" didn't work. Bathroom was also small and a light over the tub didn't work and there was scuffed and peeling wallpaper throughout the room. Also, the lobby and common area seem small with low ceilings. Not all is bad however. The guy who checked me in (Fred) was fantastic! The bed was comfortable, television had many channels and the room seemed clean. However, with several other hotels near by, I think this place needs to step up their game.
