Great staff, comfortable stay, affordable price I've stayed repeatedly at this hotel over the last few years and there are 3 reasons I keep coming back: 1) The staff is terrific - always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate special requests, etc and whether they can do it or not, they are very pleasant and sincere in their desire to help; 2) The rooms are very clean and comfortable and 3) Rates are usually VERY affordable, especially in comparison to other nearby hotels. I stay at the Microtel almost every time I visit Turning Stone for a show or just to play. Highly recommend!

Some good. Some not GOOD: We managed to find a very quiet and deserted area for the six of us to play cards. Heat/ AC was easy. Staff was great especially in the buffet area. Older ex Navy fellow just helped everyone. Keys worked easily. Great time on basketball court outside. Nice to have the pool table. TV was large and had lots of stations. We wanted an easy walk to Crossgates and that it was just across the street. We wanted to be near the Comedy Club, Funny Bones. BAD If you stay there, walk over to the Suites buffet in the morning. Real plates, bacon, omlets, just better food. Tru had weak chicken apple sausage, no bacon, Pool was closed for repair of pump. I was there two days, no swimming. More and more I find this happening when I rent hotels. Wifi did not work for one of us and the front desk could not get it to work either. Smoke detectors in rooms have a constant strobe light so in a darkened room there is constant flashing. Very annoying. Rooms were pretty small. Room alarm in two of our rooms was set to go off at 6 AM. So turn that off when you arrive. No coffee in the room. A trip to the foyer was necessary.

pleasent stay internet didn't work for me, breakfast was good but on the slim side. The staff was very professional and courteous and went out of their way to take care of the patrons any way they could. Overall though, decent stay.

Reasonable stay in Oneida area We were here for a family event over 5 days. The brochures in the room had a large amount of dust on them, otherwise, the room was pretty clean. Housekeeping did not make up the bed or towels the first night, but after telling the front desk, this changed the remainder of the trip. Coffee machine was never cleaned, coffee not replaced, but plenty of shampoo, conditioner and soap was replenished. Breakfast was simple, but only had sugar free syrup for the pancakes until Saturday when they brought out regular syrup as well as cream cheese and pre-made hard boiled eggs. I can understand not putting out eggs with only 4-5 cars in parking lot which was the case our first 3 nights, but they could have made them available on request I'm sure. Internet is horrible. Aside from a max speed of 2mps, you need to authenticate to an unsecured connection EACH time you come into the hotel. Most times this did not work and we had to disable/enable the WiFi to get to the "accept the terms" site and get connected. Not the worst, but painful. Why not have a password and it simply connects for the whole stay? Front desk was very responsive when asked for items like shower caps, coffee, etc. It was a bit discouraging that each time we came or left, if there was someone at the front desk, no acknowledgement that we were even there. A simple Hi, welcome back, have a good day, etc would have been nice. Oh well. For what we paid and compared to the other limited budget choices in the area, this was a good stay. Seems like the few minor issues could easily be fixed without much cost or effort. We'll see next time we're visiting family in the area.
