Bad smells, attempt to break in, stolen credit card information Do not stay at the Magnuson. Even though I had a non-smoking room, the smell of prior years of smoking was unbelievable. I had to air out my clothing for several days to get the smell out of my clothes. My car alarm went off three times during the night. Matthiesen has a notice posted that you shouldn’t leave anything valuable and visible in your car. I was traveling on a fishing trip so I had a lot of gear. I thought perhaps I was having a technical issue with the vehicle but now believe that there were attempted break-ins since I have not had a problem with the alarm system since arriving at my destination. However, my biggest problem is that I got a fraud alert for a purchase made on my credit card at Amazon that night or the next morning. I am in the process of protesting. The woman who checked me in commented on the color of my card, which seemed very odd at the time since anyone working in a hotel will have seen thousands of credit cards. While I’m not accusing, it seemed odd. The bottom line is to stay away from this really disgusting venue.

Too many tweakers, should be condemned. If I could give zero stars for a review, I would. First, we got a non-smoking room that still smelled like smoke. Which we dealt with until we got back from dinner. Then it smelled like weed, and the people next-door were fighting, which we could hear through the wall. I asked if we could get our room switch, which was no problem for the lady at the front desk. at least the weed smell was gone. it was fine up until about 12:30, when I tried to go to sleep and turn the TV off. Then people were knocking on doors banging on the walls the whole freaking night someone knocked on our door at 3:09 in the morning sounded like they were pissed off because they heard a man’s voice instead of a woman’s voice. Of course around 4:19, Someone was banging on the door next to our room. I literally got no sleep this night. Went to the front office at 7:30 to tell them that we would not be spending the next two nights here it was daylight and she wouldn’t open the door. She told me the manager would be in at 8 o’clock, so we went to the waffle House across the street and came back at 8 o’clock, I waited till 810. The manager still was not there so I had to come back from the other side of town. When I did come back, and this was probably the best part of the whole ordeal. The manner said manager said she was sorry and refunded my reservation for the next two nights. didn’t even bother with the night before. While we were waiting in the parking lot, I noticed a tarp on the roof in the room right below. It looked like there had been a fire at one time. I knew it was gonna be bad For how cheap it was, but not this bad. This place should be condemned.

Disgusting, left early- Don't Recommend I definitely should have read the reviews and hope you do too. I ended up leaving after one night. This place was gross. Not I am not bougey or anything, I came from the hood, and my family has been homeless before, but this place was too ghetto for me. Right out of the gate I knew it was going to be bad. Just past the reception desk a dead roach was on the floor as I made my way to my room. Bad omen. Since I was not familiar with the layout, and there were 2 stairwells leading up to my room I picked the one closest since I walk with a cane. Big mistake. Apparently the way leading up to that stairwell is poorly lit and used as a bathroom and the smell of urine was awful. A huge fresh urine trail stained the wall to my right as I just tried to hurry to the stairs. I didn't want to touch the railing, but hair no choice and at the top of the stairs I was greeted by a used condom and a fire damaged ceiling that extended almost all the way to my room. Yikes. Garbage bags were sitting outside rooms on the path to my own room. Residents opened the door to get a look at me as I passed by before quickly closing the door again which was sketch. Once in the room I thoroughly washed my hands, but was completely grossed out. Room did not smell very pleasant and the bathroom looked dirty with stains all over the bathtub. The fridge was dirty so I definitely wasn't putting food in there. The bed had no blanket or comforter, just a sheet which has a cigarette burn in it! I have literally never encountered that even in the cheapest hotels I've stayed in. The sofa chair was hard and uncomfortable. The night tables were filthy and I didn't want to touch them. The phone was also grimt and missing buttons. The desk had no desk chair(what the heck?!) so it was useless for me to work at. The bed was super uncomfortable and I slept maybe 4 hours. I was supposed to stay another night, but decided to check out in the morning due to how skeeved out I felt. Didn't want to bother arguing with anyone and just went to Holiday inn which was way better. You definitely get what you pay for and I ended up wasting money on a night I didn't use because I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Don't do it!

It’s a motel, not a hotel. Misleading photos. Seemed unsafe First of all, this is not a hotel, it’s a motel, which isn’t reflected in the photos. So that’s false advertising. After checking in—I had to be buzzed in because the doors were locked—I had to sign a waiver saying I wouldn’t hold them liable if items were stolen. But the front desk clerk was friendly. The motel room was dingy and grimy and there were no bedspreads. Clean sheets were put over a blanket and I didn’t look at the bottom sheet to see what was underneath. The bathroom and sink area looked like they had been cleaned but there was leftover stains since the place seemed old. One of the lights didn’t work. The air conditioning wasn’t fully working. There was no phone to contact the front desk. We heard noises outside that sounded like muffled screams. We felt unsafe. When we left the next morning we could see that the roof below the balcony on the second floor was falling apart and there was plastic tarp over the exterior roof. The door entrance door was locked and we were asked to slide our key cards through a window slot. I had the impression that the staff was doing the best it could under bad conditions. The photos on Expedia were really misleading.
