Happy at the Hampton Inn in Visalia The Hampton Inn by Visalia is an outstanding hotel. The staff reach you with genuine smile and takes care of you quickly. I went to my room and I was as I was putting my things away. I noticed my refrigerator wasn’t working. I contacted the young lady at the desk and she sent the maintenance man up who gave a quick look adjusted a little bit and said if it doesn’t work, call me, I’ll be here for another couple hours. The refrigerator never worked and they brought me a brand new one. Quite literally, a brand new one with the sticker still on it. Fixed. I tell you the story so you will know how responsive the staff here is they take exceptional care of you, the pool was fantastic on a very hot afternoon. Hotel was exceptionally clean. My room was exceptionally clean. No discrepancies. The breakfast the following morning was outstanding. Great choice all around. And again as I left and checked out, I was given a smile and thank for staying there. What more can you ask for? Nothing.Hampton Inn carried on the Hilton and fly fashion. Would I stay again or would I send friends and family to stay there? Yes I would.

Rude Front Desk Workers - Hotel not up to Hilton standards. It is hard to believe this is the number two hotel in Visalia. The windows were filthy and the air conditioning was a problem (too cold then too warm even trying to just move it one degree) but the worst was the rude front desk staff. We arrived around dinner time but had checked in on line so we would make sure our room was still available. That was fine but the guy working was super fake saying "welcome to Hampton Inn" and you could hear sarcasm in his voice. I asked about our silver member waters (part of the honors program) and he rudely said "we only give water to gold members. Your husband is only silver". OK fine we went to our room and settled in for a two night stay. After dinner we came back to the room and realized the room set-up was ridiculous. The bed was on the side wall not facing the TV. We could hardly even watch TV from the bed. So, the next morning I tried once again to get the waters and once again was told only gold members get it. Are you kidding me. It was 106 degrees outside and you can buy 48 bottles of water at Costco for $3.99 and you cannot even give your guests a bottle or two. Give me a break. We did have water bottles with us for hiking so we filled them at breakfast but it would have been nice to have extra ones for refilling later - we did buy some at the park (Kings Canyon). On this trip we stayed at four Hampton Inns and all readily handed out waters to Hilton Honors members and quite possibly all guests it seemed. With temperatures being over 100 degrees all week you would think the management would consider being a bit nicer. Hilton should pull their name off this location. It is not up to standards.

Great stay - sausageless Comfortable large room with good bath/shower combo, low bath if you’re mobility impaired is always good Nice staff, handy ‘shop’ for essentials and snacks/drinks, pool and ample parking with easy access Breakfast day one good, breakfast at 9:40am marred by the lack of sausage and eggs - the Juanita in the kitchen refused to cook any more even though there were many waiting for the items - this disappointment was taken further when the kitchen door opened only to show the same Juanita munching on a sausage link! One star off

Terrible Road Noise The worst road noise I have ever experienced in a hotel! I was on the 2nd floor, east side of the hotel. Noise doesn’t usually bother me when I’m sleeping, but this was like you were outside listening to the freeway. They need to put in quality windows or some type of sound-deadening blinds (I heard all of this even though the window was closed and both sets of blinds were pulled down). The staff was friendly. The room was refreshed after the first night (I was there for two nights) and the staff did a great job. The front desk staff got me earplugs before my second night and they made a big difference in how loud the road noise was, but I had to take them out during the night because I don’t do well sleeping with earplugs. It was a terrible experience because of the freeway noise issue during the night.

A Great Choice at the Gateway to the Sequoias Great experience at a great price. Rooms very clean and up to date, staff nice, and the complementary breakfast tasted great and had a lot of choices from traditional eggs and bacon to light fare and the traditional waffles. Would stay again and recommend for anyone on their way to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park
