Horrible experience Our experience with the Black Horse Inn has been nothing but horrible. We signed a contract with them January 2020 to host our wedding on 12/04/21 and were strung along with staff changes and changing deadlines with major renovations. Eventually in September 2021 we were told that the renovations that we were promised several times would be done by our wedding date wouldn’t be. We were forced to move venues and change caterers less then 2 months prior to our date. We were promised a refund but now have not been able to get in touch with anyone for months.

Don't go to the Black Horse Inn My review is this place was a total disaster. Two weeks before the wedding we had to find a new place. They were not helpful, they don't answer phones or emails, and they owe me thousands of dollars for almost a year now. This was a nightmare and they do not care.

total scam They took our money for a wedding, deceived us about renovations being underway, kept stringing us along and refused to give us a refund. They used a temporary employee to tell us we needed to send advance payment (deposit) - then the employees left, emails were shut down, website shut down, but they still insisted they would be opening by the time of the wedding. They could no longer accept hotel reservations, no longer had a restaurant, had no liquor license, but nonetheless insisted they could continue with the wedding as planned. It's beyond bait and switch.

Stepped Up and Made things Right!! A wedding to Remember!! We booked Black Horse Inn in 2020 for our daughters Oct 2, 2021 wedding. At the time of booking we were told the Guilded Fox (reception room) was to be remodeled as well as the Manor House (10 Rooms where the wedding party would stay) The remodeling was to be completed by the end of April 2021. In June we were told they were running behind, however all would be complete by August. In July we went by and saw the Guilded Fox had been renovated, however the Manor house had little to no work completed. The manager Ricky again insisted it would be complete by the end of August. At this point we contacted the owner (Jake Turner) and he informed us that renovations would not be completed by the time of the wedding, however he was working on a contingency plan. Jake presented us with a few different ideas that just did not fit what we expected for our daughters wedding. Upon searching we found a property that had the 10 bedrooms we needed, however it was about 40 minutes from Black Horse Inn where the wedding would take place. Jake stepped in and booked the new accommodations and provided transportation to and from the wedding for the entire wedding party. The new accommodations were above and beyond our expectations, however they ended up being a perfect substitute. We later learned that the manager was no longer with Black Horse and that Marissa would be handling the wedding details and vendors for us. This was yet another blessing in disguise. Marissa was excellent to work with and made sure everything went off without a hitch. The outside garden was set up and ready for us when the day finally arrived. Also, Marissa coordinated with our wedding planner to make sure everything was perfect for the cocktail hour as well as the reception in the Guilded Fox. Everything went off without a hitch and everyone enjoyed themselves and thought everything was beautiful. Jake and Marissa really stepped up and made was could have been a disaster into an incredible day. I even understand that Jake was at the property the day before and the day of the wedding to make sure the grounds were pristine. It is very unfortunate that we were not able to stay on site, but Jake stepped up and did everything in his power to give us an incredible wedding day. Although things did not go as planned, I will say that Jake stepped up and did what was needed to make the a complete success.

Lovely socially distanced get-away I just returned from two lovely nights at the Black Horse Inn booked via airbnb. We reserved the Fox & Grapes suite. Some problems developed in the suite prior to our arrival and the host was able to accommodate us elsewhere on the property. We had access to a fully functional kitchen equipped with everything we needed to cook meals and maintain social distance. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed wine & canapes in the gazebo while it lightly rained. It was dreamy, romantic, and it felt like we had the property to ourselves. Regrettably, there weren't any horses boarding while we were there. The accommodations were immaculately clean. The host promptly replied to messages and proactively communicated about changes to our reservations to ensure we'd still want to proceed with our stay. The host is professional and helped make our experience exceed our expectations. I highly recommend the Black Horse Inn. We didn't stay at the Inn as a full B&B experience. It is currently only providing limited more "self-serve" stays due to covid. The hosts provided contact-less check-in. Everything we needed was available and we were given contact information should a need arise. If you're looking to get away from your house for a few days, i highly recommend reserving a stay here.
