Fine stay but some awkward interactions We had a long stay here and it was fine. The bed was comfortable and the hotel is walkable to many sights and also restaurants in the DuPont Circle area, though it’s a fair way from the museums if that’s what you are in town to do most. The service was fine but we had awkward interactions with the doormen that negatively coloured the stay. Essentially, the doormen were always hassled when we ordered Ubers rather than let them open the door to a waiting taxi. They would comment to us and made it so awkward the first couple days to the extent we stopped asking for cars to come to the front of the hotel and went to the corner instead. We were even given a speech one time while we waited for our car about how Uber is bad and we shouldn’t be using them, and a waiting taxi driver decided to chime in. It made it so we disliked walking through the front door past these groups of people hanging out. Also there are no coffee or even coffee making facilities in the rooms. There’s a carafe you can serve yourself from in the lobby but only til mid morning. Sometimes you want a coffee to yourself in your room though, or not in the morning. So overall, while the hotel was fine, it just did not feel that warm or pleasant of an experience.

First class hotel; second stay This is my second time staying at the Jefferson. The hotel experience is what you would expect from a five-star hotel. Room was elegant and very quiet; a priority for me. All members of the staff (from the intake people, doormen and concierge) are pleasant and go out of their way to be helpful. The location could not be better; four short blocks from the White House and the hotel structure itself is exquisite and clean. My son enjoyed the exercise room; well-appointed and clean. If I return to D.C. I will definitely return for a third time to The Jefferson.

Another great stay. This is a magnificent hotel that is only about ten blocks from the White House. This is our second stay and what makes the Jefferson Hotel so special is that the staff really cares about your well being and will provide you with expert service throughout your stay. I highly recommend the Greenhouse restaurant on site and their car service.

A True Gem! What a treat! Staff could not have been nicer. The hotel is gorgeous and immaculate. We were upgraded to a suite and it was phenomenal. Every detail has been thought of at this hotel. The food is incredible too. They even have a library downstairs filled with books autographed by authors who have stayed there! I can't wait to come back. We had breakfast at the restaurant and the waiter even brought me a little stool for my purse!!
