Perfect fora weekend getaway My sister and I stayed at this hotel Friday to Monday and found it to be conveniently located and confortable. Room was spacious and it was serviced daily, it was also quite, which was a plus. Staff is very friendly. Buses 52 and 54 will take you to The Mall and Monuments, or if weather is nice, you can walk.

Positive and negatives Positive the location is amazing the price is good. Staff is decent. Negative the room is outdated not inviting. Not the best cleaning. The bathroom feels more up to date than the room. Walls are thin. I still give 3 stars because the location and price not terrible

You get what you pay for…not much Bare bones and no frills. You get what you pay for, which honestly is not much. The positives: location is great. Walking distance to most of the major attractions and to restaurants and bars. The neighborhood felt fairly safe which was important to me as I was solo. The negatives: the hotel needs work…A LOT of work. Starting with the WiFi. It was spotty at best. I had to go outside to order an Uber and to check in for my flight. The TV barely worked, it would go back and forth from normal coloring to a green to tint. Only a handful of channels worked and the volume never went high enough to be heard from the head of the bed. While we are on the topic of electronics…the plugs next to the head of the bed were terrible. My phone and Apple Watch chargers would fallout when I stuck them in. This led to me having to find the sweet spot to get them to stick. The room was tiny. It reminded me of my first dorm room. Thankfully I had my own bathroom and no roommate. The room smelled old and stagnant. Thank God I had body spray with me as I doused the room and bed with it. I was hoping I would get used to the smell, but every time I left and came back, it was just as strong. Now the bathroom appeared clean, but I was too chicken to use the shower. There were holes in the ceiling and that creeped me out. _. The sink was slow to drain as was the toilet slow to flush. The door to the room was flimsy. Even though I double locked it at night, I was still kinda nervous about someone being able to open it. I would push the door infront of it as an extra bit of caution. Now as I mentioned before, the neighborhood felt safe, but this place does not have security, the front door does not lock after dark and I was a female staying solo. So I didn’t sleep super sound. Bottom line. This hotel is perfect for those of you who literally only use hotels to sleep in. This hotel is not a good fit for those of you, like me who need a place to go to in between activities to decompress. My next trip to DC will have me paying a little extra for a nicer place. Good value but with issues I always find it difficult to write a review when I stay in a cheaper hotel to save money. I received good value for what I spent, but objectively the experience could have been better. I was surprised to get a room in the basement, but I don't consider this a major issue. While I wasn't supposed to use the staff stairs, I did so to get quickly to the main floor. The room was large enough; I had a desk where I could work; the bed was comfortable, hot water for the shower was fine; and I got daily maid service. The major issue was a very noisy heating/air condition unit that was difficult to set since I needed both choices as the temperature changed. I had to stand on the bed to make adjustments. I quickly figured out that I could block the annoying light from the hotel exterior illumination by using one of the extra pillows. Staff support was adequate in dealing with a reservation issue. Perhaps the best thing I can say is that I'm willing to stay here again next year for the savings if the conference occurs in the same nearby expensive hotel.

Good hotel for the price If you are looking for a comfortable bed, great location and clean this is your place. This is definitely not a luxury hotel, but the price is right. My room was very small, but I spent most of the day out seeing D.C. so did not need a huge room. The downside was the towels were scratchy and really thin. There was an outdoor bar right outside my window so it was really loud two of the three nights I stayed at the hotel. There is chipped paint, peeling wallpaper, etc. In the hallways. That being said it was clean. The free coffee in the lobby was good. I was able to use the microwave in the lobby to fix my breakfast. They had a water cooler in the lobby, so need to buy water bottles. The location was excellent! The location felt safe and secure. Only 30 minute walk to the White House, Washington Monuments, etc. There was a nice restaurant next door (although a little pricey). Went half a block up to 14th street and tons of other restaurants. I would definitely stay here again based on the price and location.
