Best Western Watertown Fort Drum

Friendly and Helpful Staff Great location, Good Breakfast, Friendly & Helpful Staff. I stayed with my family. Lots of shopping and restaurants at a short drive distance. It was 10 min drive to salmon run mall. Overall It was a good experience and a nice stay at the hotel.

Look for another hotel Entire hotel smelled of smoke. Hotel is outdated. and needs upgrading. The breakfast selections were poor, cold frozen egg omelette, sausage was the only selector. Dirty furniture. Doors were propped open which compromised security. Housekeeping was only offered if requested.

Trust but Verify - Confirm Your Reservation in Writing! Trust and verify. Watertown is currently experiencing high hotel occupancy and exorbitant rates due to increased activity on the local military base. I am confident this property cancelled lower rate (credit-card guaranteed) reservations, including mine, to re-sell the rooms at higher rates. Downtown location is great, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Facility is old and tired and in need of renovation and renewed managerial energy. In all fairness, there is a new GM in role who will hopefully breathe new life into this tired old hotel.

There are Better Hotels to Stay In We stayed at this hotel about 6 years ago and had a bad experience. They were renovating at time, so we thought we would give them another try. Sorry I did! We went with our family including 2 grandkids so we booked two king suites. Right off the bat at check in we had a clerk who seemed not too enthusiastic with us checking in and an older man (I am in my 60's) who kept budding in and the clerk allowing him until my husband said to the clerk how rude that was. We get in our room and it smelled like an old bar! The smell of mildew and cigarettes was quite strong. The room was old and run down so not sure what renovations they did years before. The doors to the bathroom were warped and kept sticking and making it hard to close. The toilet was squeezed into the bathroom so close to the door you could hardly move. We had our grandson in the room with us, so it was a little awkward using the bathroom. The bed was lumpy, old and very uncomfortable! The sofa bed wasn't made up for my grandson so I had to do that! Walking down the hallways, it stunk of marijuana smoke, so you know someone was smoking in the hotel. I told all this to the day staff when I checked out and they were well aware of the hotels shortcomings and said that the new owners were not looking after the hotel and they expected it to be taken over by a Marriott. Best Western is usually a pretty good hotel but not this one! Sorry Best Western you missed the mark this one. With all the other hotels in the area, I would definitely avoid this one at all costs!

Nice place! We stayed for one night while visiting family. It's an older property, but nice and clean. The bed was comfortable, the room was a decent size and the breakfast was good. The breakfast area was nice and roomy. The pool looked really nice, but we didn't have a chance to use it. The location was convenient with plenty of parking. The staff was friendly. I'd recommend it.
