4 Star Service, Property Needs Updating I’m not a professional hotel reviewer, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Let’s start with the staff, they were very good, very polite, and very knowledgeable. The bed was comfortable with fresh linen. The breakfast was tasty, and a very wide selection, even 20 minutes before closing. To be to be thorough in the review, I must point out that carpets were worn and stained, furnishings, other than the bed were also worn from good use. The hairdryer was missing in our room. I hope this is a reflection of not yet fully coming out of Covid and that the hotel will soon look as good as the performance of the staff. Then it will be three or four star property.

Nice location, friendly staff. This is a nice hotel. It is obviously tired and probably a very busy location as it is directly off the I80 Ohio turnpike not far from the Indiana & Michigan border. I think it was probably a great property in its time, but for what it is, she seems to be hanging in there. I have stayed her 3 times and am planning on returning.

Don’t stay The room was old and worn. Chair stained. Bottom of the lamp speckled with rust. Then there’s the bathroom. The floor is so uneven that when I put something on the cabinet it rolled off and behind. And I mean “rolled” Couldn’t get out fast enough in the morning. Traveling through and will not stay here again. I did notice what looked like an elevator shaft in the lot next. Hopefully this means a new hotel will be built. At this point I call this stop “Wause-no”

Good stay Looked for a random room as we were traveling east and stopped by this place. We managed to grab the last room which was nice on the night mgr. We got a room with a pullout couch which we needed sheets for. Room and bathroom were clean which all that mattered.

Never stay here This was one of the worst hotels we ever stayed in. Dirty, smelly, horrible breakfast. It was a crime to charge us $143/night The floors were filthy, the sower stained. We went to breakfast and the omelets were nasty tasting and I grabbed an English muffin, wrapped in Saran and it was so soggy my fingers fell through…gross
