Shaker Mill Inn

They think of everything We spent a delightful weekend at this charming inn. The room was squeaky clean, very comfortable, and well stocked with everything needed to make our visit pleasant. The food (mostly locally sourced) that was placed in our refrigerator and counter for each day was delicious. They accommodated my wife's gluten and dairy-free diet, too. We highly recommend Shaker Mill Inn!

Excellent! Anytime we are in the area, this is where we will stay! My husband and I spent one night in Stockbridge and we're so glad we booked the Shaker Mill Inn, as it was great! A wonderful room with a two-person hot tub in the bathroom, it was chilly and we really enjoyed a good soak and the suite was delightful with a breakfast nook, front porch entry, private back deck, excellent king bed and sitting area. Walked to Amici a restaurant across the street and had a very good meal. The grounds are lovely and we met up with the Inn Keeper John, very helpful and friendly.

Spend your money elsewhere! When you drop $300 or more per night for accommodation anywhere, but especially at an inn, expectations are high. This place is extremely overrated and in dire need of an update. To begin with, the place is supposedly “pet-friendly” yet there are keep-your-dog-off-the-lawn signs strewn about the property every 5 feet (where one sign may suffice). As a matter of fact, there are ‘instructional’ signs tacked up all over the place making one feel imprisoned. The room was cold, and the heat seemed slow to warm it up. The bathroom sink drained slowly - disgusting. Instead of nice amenities such as individual soaps and shampoos, there were only pumps. Cheap, gross, and old-fashioned (and not in a cute, quaint kind of way). The “included breakfast” is already-peeled fruit (?!) on plastic-wrapped plate sitting in the fridge and old pastries - nothing was fresh. I would not call that “breakfast.” Also, no bottled water provided (a pet peeve). Lastly, one gets the feeling that the on-site owners are watching the guests constantly. Just not very relaxing at all. It’s beyond me that this place has lasted so long. Likely because there is nowhere else to stay in West Stockbridge (which, incidentally, despite being a lovely area is a ghost town without much to do). It feels like owners are cutting [many] corners. Definitely spend your money somewhere else.

Great place for both humans and dogs Just got back from two days at the Shaker Mill Inn. What a great place to stay, management is helpful and friendly, and have to say they actually have the rooms laid our well with a lot of attention to meeting the needs of their customers, both human and furry. Will definitely be back.

3 visits, all wonderful Of all the places we've stayed in the US, Shaker Mill Inn is our favorite. The owners are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spacious - more like a small efficiency apartment - attractive, comfortable and clean. The grounds are lush with plantings with something always in bloom. AND it's dog friendly, so the most important member of the family gets to vacation with us. W. Stockbridge is also our favorite spot in the Berkshires, with a little less of a tourist feel and more authentically small town. The Cafe D'Amici across the street makes dining easy and delicious. I think I could eat there every night.
