Great location, good service, but accommodations lacking My husband and I stayed here recently for our trip to Colonial Williamsburg. The convenience to the visitor's center can't be beat! It was very close to Colonial Williamsburg and the Merchant Square area. It was also pretty convenient to Jamestown and Yorktown. The people working at this motel were all very pleasant and friendly. The shower in our room was in bad condition and the shower curtain had black mildew stains on it. The room showed signs of plumbing leaks in the past and poor repair jobs. The fan in the bathroom was very dusty! They had a sign telling us that there was no breakfast - only coffee. However, my husband found that the coffee machine didn't really work. There was a coffee maker in the room, but there was no creamer so we didn't use it. Their ice machine said not to use it and to top things off we found a cockroach in our room. The fridge in the room was a very nice size and there was a microwave for reheating leftovers which was very nice! We are not usually picky travelers, but this place left a lot to be desired.

This Hotel was great this time around. I stayed at this hotel before and I was disappointed. I came here again because I am with Choice Hotel Rewards and thought to give it another chance. What I can say this time was; hot water for my tub constant and constant working Wi-Fi. Overall since my last review on this hotel I can say I am satisfied. My room was clean and spacious, hot water, Wi-Fi working, so I was pleased. Also location is great for downtown Williamsburg, you can walk there in under 30 minutes. For the price of the hotel and location, you can't beat. Also, there is a pancake house restaurant across the street for breakfast, excellent breakfast place.

What You Want In A Budget Hotel Room was small but clean and beds comfortable. Good price. Coffee only for breakfast but you can’t expect a lot if you look for a budget hotel. Coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave in room. Will stay again when coming to Williamsburg.

Disappointing Location reasonable, cleanliness fair, but poorly maintained, and not much in the hospitality department. I was traveling by myself, so I consciously chose a modest hotel in a decent location, but I had experienced the most modest and chose to pay just a little bit more for maybe not rock bottom. It was a disappointment even on that metric. The sink was cracked and poorly repaired. The shower stall looked as if it had been done on someone's first day on the job, and the bed was the most uncomfortable I ever had paid for. The Wifi was very wonky and glitchy. The worst came later, though. When I honestly reported the above in a survey from the hotel, the GM emailed me back, and in all caps basically invited me to never stay in an Econolodge again. No worries. These people should not be in the hospitality business.
