Always clean, always friendly, always great value! As IHG members we stay regularly Holiday Inns. Alas, while we like the points, we've found that not all sites are equal. THIS one is, by far, the very best we've found and is always where we stay when visiting family. As the title claims, it's ALWAYS all of those things--clean, friendly, and a great value. The breakfast area is kept well-stocked with a good variety of options, and is overseen by attentive managers (thank you, Kelly!). Our bathroom was spotless with a step-in shower that drained well and provided pump style amenities. There's a mini-fridge in each room and a Wegman's grocery store across the parking lot where you can either buy to load up your fridge, or sit and grab a quick meal. We've always wondered--how is this particular HI so much better in quality and price than others? Could it be that they host the major TV network staff who stay during Little League World Series? Perhaps. Or maybe it's just Williamsport, down to earth, attentive customer service. The one and only thing that is a challenge is limited parking, especially if you land at night on a weekend. That's when the crowds are big at the adjacent James Restaurant which shares the lot. Several guests complained while we stood in the lobby. There's overflow parking but it's not advertised or posted anywhere for guests to see (which would be helpful), We've learned to park offsite, then retrieve and repark our car after the restaurant closes.

Very Nice Stay Centrally Located in Williamsport This property is perfectly located for conducting business in Williamsport - and the proximity to the highways makes it great for those traveling through the area. The front desk staff were especially helpful with Internet connectivity. If your connection is super-slow, ask for the "other" signon passwod, which worked just fine. There's some confusion navigating the elevators at this property, with the main elevator having front and rear door openings on the First Floor. Be persistent and you'll figure it out. Breakfast was adequate - and the location is within walking distance to numerous restaurants. Parking is quite inadequate, so several guests who attempted parking in the hotel lot (and in the Holiday Inn lot) resorted to parking at the Hampton Inn next door. It's not a long walk, but lots of us found there simply was no parking available at this property. I'm glad the owner reads and responds to these reviews. Sadly, many hotels have someone, somewhere, skim the reviews and paste a standard, worthless response. Not so at this hotel - and that is truly appreciated.

Not Clean and Not Safe. Poor IHG Elite Recognition. The Holiday Inn Express is physically attached to the Holiday Inn. Basically, they're one hotel with two wings and each wing operating under a different brand. Despite basically being the same hotel, rates are cheaper. That's why I booked the Holiday Inn Express. I think I found the reasons why the Holiday Inn Express is cheaper. My room wasn't clean. It featured hair on the toilet, hair on the vanity and sink area, mold or mildew in the walk-in shower, and a stained sofa (use your imagination). A manager was apologetic about the room cleanliness issues and moved me to a new room. Supposedly, he was crediting my account with "extra" points for the issue. But I have yet to see any points. Hallways were dirty and not vacuumed once over at least 24 hours. More troubling is the lack of guest security measures. Doors leading to the parking lot and other areas outside the hotel were propped open with stones and door stops, allowing ANYONE from the outside access to the hotel without going through the lobby and past the front desk. That is very dangerous and unsafe. That might explain a couple of the cars that seemed to loiter in the parking lot for prolonged periods of time when I stayed. It definitely makes you wonder. Breakfast, like at all Holiday Inn Expresses, was free for all guests. Since the hotel is basically the same hotel as the Holiday Inn you can actually book a room at the Holiday Inn, where breakfast isn't free, and eat for free at the Holiday Inn Express. I saw several guests grab a carry-out breakfast and walk right into the Holiday Inn with it. The breakfast itself was a disaster. I saw little kids touch items on the food buffet and then put them back. Tongs to retrieve the items were placed on the countertop or were hung from the handle of the chafing dish. Other items they were left on top of the food. That is not sanitary. Cutlery wasn't wrapped. One adult coughed and sneezed and then reached into the bowl with the plastic forks, touching multiple forks. I had an upset stomach and diarrhea for 24 hours after eating the food. As an IHG Diamond, I asked for a late check-out. Diamonds are supposed to receive a 2 pm late check-out. The front desk told me the latest I could have was 12:30 pm because "housekeepers needed to flip the rooms." I pushed back and was eventually given 1 pm. All things considered, I would not stay here again. The lack of cleanliness, the guest safety and security, and the breakfast issues are too much to overlook. The poor IHG elite recognition is also disappointing. They want IHG customers but don't want to provide any of the benefits.

Great place to stay for a work trip The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were spotless. The surrounding area was clean and safe with plenty of places to eat after working all day. The hotel is easy to get to and easy to get back on the highway. My next trip to this area for work I will be back here

Below Holiday Inn Express normal standards - Old Hotel The Williamsport Holiday Inn Express is old and very dated. The morning breakfast was bad with very limited options. It appears this hotel was another hotel chain, and Holiday Inn Express purchased it but has not modernized it. The elevator was 1970's paneling, doors all scratched up. The dining area was very worn and plain as well as the lobby. Rooms were dated. Would not stay here again as over-priced for the value received.
