Worst hotel experience I've had We were gifted a voucher for this hotel as a wedding gift and decided to use it to celebrate our first anniversary. I assumed it was a 'nice' hotel, being aware that people have weddings there, so we packed our best clothes and booked a table in the restaurant. Upon arrival, we realised that the room was extremely basic, similar to a travel lodge. It was also roasting hot with no information on how to change the heating. Both children had to sleep without clothes on, with a fan on them, in the middle of December, and we all had extreme headaches by the morning. We ordered dinner, but ended up leaving without eating, as the food was completely inedible (I felt sick just looking at it) and the manager of the restaurant was one of the rudest people I've met. We ended up eating at the Fishers Pond down the road, which was absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was included in our stay, but needless to say, we were so desperate to get out, we didnt bother. The only good thing I can say, is that the front of house staff were absolutely amazing. They looked smart, they presented themselves well, they were polite and helpful, and they were fun and friendly with my children.

Christmas eve getaway Christmas eve ..we stayed last year and repeated it this year as we enjoyed it so much..when we arrived check in was busy but the receptionist handled it well.We settled into out room which as last year was great to be in the woods few little bits like the decor a tad tired now and since covid they've removed the blanket boxes in the walkways but that's nothing major. We had a lovely steak in the restaurant Christmas eve night and rob our waiter even though only young bless him was professional and attentive to our requests without being intrusive all in all a great Christmas eve stay again well done

Best Xmas party ever Just been to Marwell Hotel Xmas works party. Have to say my 3 course meal was excellent, hot and delicious. Table was set out very festive. Service was very good. Very impressed as large groups can be a challenge. The best bit for me was the AMAZING DJ named Kai. I have never in all my Xmas party nights (and there has been a lot) seen such a happy, go girl DJ. Just watching her at her job was a delight and she made me smile all night. We all loved her and to top it off she played cracking tunes. Was a brilliant night. Thank you Marwell Hotel

Lovely location with amazing staff and very confy beds! Little TLC needed in places Lovely location with amazing staff and very confy beds! Little TLC needed in places Liked · Fabulous staff member to check us in which was fast and friendly, the room was spacious and had a large patio door to open for fresh air leading out to the wooded area. Beds were super comfortable and blackout curtains meant we had no problems sleeping. No noise from other rooms either which was a pleasant surprise considering the number of families with small children here. Room was very hot at first but we turned down the radiator and opened the patio door and it was fine. It was also great to have a fan in the room as I get night sweats so this was invaluable! Had a drink in the bar area which was decorated for Xmas, nice cosy and clean and a good range of drinks. Breakfast staff again were amazing and gave me the allergens list so I could check re gluten free and went and got me gluten free cereal and toast too. Good range of hot foods on offer and the coffee was very nice! Great base to explore the area and we enjoyed visiting Winchester which was 15-20 mins away. Disliked · There were areas of decoration that were a little tatty or tired in the rooms and some of the bath enamel was chipped but it was all functional and clean. TV had limited channels and lost signal occasionally but that may be the weather and we weren't in the room long anyway. Scrambled eggs at breakfast were a little too runny but the rest of the food was fab.

Lovely place Great little hotel across from the amazing Marwell Zoo. Very nice friendly young lady on reception checked us straight in. No problems at all. Comfy room. Hot water was great in the nice deep bath. My husband had a shower and the water was powerful and hot. We both found the bed to be exceptionally large and very comfortable. Small bar next to reception. 2 lads serving again, very friendly fun and professional. Had a bar snack came quick and was obviously cooked fresh, yummy!, food for breakfast was great too and all you could eat, did not know there was a pool so cant comment, wish we knew about it, great stay over night and already thinking of when we can go back, great staff and lovely hotel
