Econo Lodge

Nice and simple The lodging was very comfortable and the manager and his wife were friendly and accommodating. The building is not the newest and latest structure in town, but it provides a secure and safe dwelling for travelers. I would use Econolodge again, and will recommend to anyone traveling through Winfield Kansas to lodge there.

A good affordable option in Winfield This is an older motel which definitely needs updating. However it is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a lot of street noise however it was drowned out by the ac & the noise decreased around 10pm. Or maybe that’s when I fell asleep! The only problem I had was that the Wi-Fi was pretty poor. Most of the time I just had to turn off the Wi-Fi setting on my phone in order to use the Internet. There is no free breakfast but there’s a donut shop right down the street. There are a couple of cute shops & a bookstore in town and a really nice park with a nice walking path right on the other side of the downtown area.

Like home! We stayed here last year and it's just as nice as our last visit. We even got the same room! We told the manager that we'd like an upper floor and he gladly gave us one. Room was very clean and bed was nice and comfortable. Noise from road can be a little loud...so we bring a fan. It did quiet down after 10 pm.

Good points, bad points Everyone seemed to like this motel on Trip Advisor so I thought I would try it. Let's get to the bullet points: Things I liked: Comfortable bed, very clean, excellent price, good internet Things I disliked: 1. I booked online so I should not have to stand there and fill out a little form to register for the room. It's the 21st century, get with the program. 2. Had to walk upstairs to a filthy little area to get ice from the machine, which did not work. Things that travelers should know: This is an old motel and although well-maintained, every sound from the outside comes inside. Train horns can be very loud at times. Highway noises were loud also but quieted down after 10:00 pm.

From start to finish! Amazing! From start to finish!! Check.in was pleasant. An hour or so we received a call from the front desk asking how are room was. Of course it was perfect! But we did let him know we were having a problem with the wifi. He asked if he could come to the room to help with it. My husband and I felt so silly as it was my error it wasn't working. He also noticed that I had a walker and the bed was pretty high and offered to bring me a foot still to make it easier to get into bed. Later that afternoon we went out for a smoke and we seen him and his boys playing stick ball in the parking lot since it wasn't busy. I thought that was great to see the business owner interacting with the kids outside. We requested a handicapped room, we didn't get it, however there was the metal handrails in the shower but nothing by the toilet. I struggled to get up from toilet each time, and think maybe I'll just invest in some portable grab bars to go with me in the future in case the handicapped room isn't available. Beds were super comfy, room was clean, staff so friendly. Breakfast was good. The options were biscuits n gravy, waffles, cereal, hot n cold, muffins, danish, bananas, toast, milk n juice. There was plenty to grab a bite before we hit the road. I would highly recommend this hotel, and we will definetly be staying here again!
