Holiday Inn Express Woodstock-Shenandoah Valley by IHG

Unprofessional spiteful managment I had a stay last month where I was given a completely moldy room, mold saturated the entire ceiling due to lack of ventilation, there was a musty smell throughout, coupled with the room looking as if it was not cleaned from the prior guests. I brought this to the managements attention to simply attempt to switch rooms, I was rudely told they're sold out, but what caught me off guard was there was no sort of apology to literally having a moldy/dirty room. I later spoke with the GM and explained that I've stayed there several times this year and the prior rooms were fine, and I understand it was a one off situation and that I will be back. Forward to next month, I booked my stay on a Monday, for labor day weekend. It wasn't until 2 hours before my check-in this weekend that the GM cancels my reservation having come with my family from over 6 hours away, I wasn't even given a phone call, only an email that I just so happened to see while heading over. The managers reason? Because I complained about my moldy room my last stay and that he can't risk having me complain again. As if his rooms are pristine and he can guarantee no other guest will bring up a concern. As if that was somehow my fault. A GM with a spiteful, unprofessional conduct like this shouldn't be in charge of anything. I will be reporting it to IHG non-stop until I get a resolution.

Stuck there The hotel was mediocre. It’s easy off and on. Close to Shenandoah mountains Had a 3 night reservation. Wanted to check out after the 2nd night at 10am they insisted they had to charge me for the 3rd night. They said i needed to do that the day before. Now i have to appeal to corporate to get maybe something back

Very nice hotel If I were to go anywhere near or close to this hotel this is the one I would come back to 5 stars great breakfast nice beds also had very nice desk great food options nearby Alll within walking distance loved this hotel best hotel I’ve been to overall 11/10

I do not dislike this place but certain things were lacking. Full disclosure. I feel that chain hotels should have smart TVs, soft drop toilet seats and USB ports in order to get an average rating. This place only has the USB ports. Also, one light was broken, another had a burned out bulb. The office chair was broken. The sink faucet was leaky. All of these are easy routine maintenance fixes and I would gladly go back if remedied. The staff was very nice and there is ample parking.

Disappointed Travelers We often go this route to NY, as my husband lectures to 1,000s as we travel. We prefer Holiday Inn Express because of their cleanliness, consistency, and professionalism. However, we were disappointed with this one! It had the aroma of tobacco as soon as we walked into the room. The bed was shabbily made and the room had the appearance of a renovated older hotel. The late night staff were not friendly but the early morning was. Breakfast tables were dirty and food was lacking. Maybe improving the managerial position would help.
