Charming stay on the Cape Jim and his wife have thought of all the details including fresh filtered water everyday in your room. I read the reviews about hearing other guests through the walls and ceiling, but we heard nothing. The Inn has so much charm and all the modern conveniences that you need. We had a special request to store our Jeep doors so we could cruise around the Cape and this was no problem. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Grossly Misrepresented as Luxury Boutique Hotel This “hotel” can hardly be described as a “luxury boutique hotel”. The photographs and descriptions on the website grossly misrepresent the reality that is Chapter House. On arrival, the attendant waxed on about the history of the building proclaiming that a Doctor once lived in the building. After recovering from this fascinating fact we asked if we could have anything to eat to which he replied - we have tinned fish ! We declined that delectable offering and proceeded to our room on the third floor up some narrow wooden stairs to find a noisy room by the roadside, with blinds that didn’t close, a very noisy bathroom with a door that didn’t close. Upon asking for an alternate quieter room with a bathroom door that closed , he said he could not offer anything. After a noisy night, we went downstairs for breakfast to find the smallest breakfast buffet imaginable - OJ, coffee and muffins and some overnight oats. Too bad if you were gluten free as there were no gf foods available. There was always the tinned fish ! The rooms lacked a refrigerator, any notes for guidance and no telephone. There weren’t even any notes on how to operate the in room coffee machine. The bathroom sink lacked a plug and toiletries were minimal. Paintwork around the exterior of the building needs much attention and the place in general needs maintenance. I would look very seriously at the efficacy of the bedroom sprinkler system. This is not a luxury boutique hotel - it is neither in terms of quality and it barely qualifies as a hotel. If you are looking for a luxury boutique hotel, look elsewhere.

Charming Cape Cod Stay Cute property with very welcoming staff. The room was really cute and a decent size, stocked with Nest bath products. Bed was comfortable, AC worked great, couldn’t figure out how to get more on the TV to watch, and wish there was maybe a communal fridge or mini fridge to put left overs but overall great 2 night stay!

They must do better on the basics On paper the Chapter House has everything going for it but the execution misses nearly every target. Let's start in the bedroom - one of the ones in the annexe away from the main house. Our room was clean and sparsely furnished but had the most flimsy iron bedstead that wobbled against the wall when you even just sat on the bed. No honeymooners! We wedged a cushion between the bedstead and the wall to stop it flexing and further damaging the paintwork but the bed just hadn't been put together properly. In truth it was the meanest queen bed and cheapest of cheap uncomfortable mattresses that creaked, twanged and groaned when you adjusted your position in the night waking your partner. And the most uncomfortable lumpy pillows. Both my wife and I woke up early both mornings with backache - and that never happens. Neither my wife and I had a full nights sleep on either of the two nights we stayed, with at least one of us waking up nearly every hour. The room could easily take a lovely comfy King bed, so why cut corners with a cheap little one - especially at the rates they charge. There were other niggles which we probably wouldn't have noticed if we'd slept properly: No fridge. A bright security light right outside the window which shines into the room all night thru the shutters. Every door hinge squeaks too. It's an historic building but the owners haven't taken the time to consider the little details that make for a good night's sleep - the basics of lodging. None of these problems is unsolvable but it needs management to have a completely fresh look and bring some basic attention to detail. And some WD-40. On the plus side, it's well located in a good location for exploring the Cape. A simple breakfast with muffins & coffee. A nice bar serving a selection of drinks. Walking distance to the Old Yarmouth Inn, the best restaurant around. But they must do better on the basics.

Great Weekend Getaway My wife and I spent this past weekend at the Chapter House for my cousin's wedding and decided to extend our stay to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jim who was kind enough to let us check in a bit early and informed us we had been upgraded and included a nice little care package of snacks and beverages. Each morning we were greeted by the amazing staff and were able to enjoy some coffee and breakfast pastries. There was a nice little patio and yard that had some games (giant connect four and cornhole) with some nice seating options. The location of the Chapter House for very convenient for my wife and I. It was only a few miles from the wedding venue (Borsari Gallery - amazing place as well!) and downtown Hyannis (suggest hitting up Main Street and Cap Cod Brewery). Thank you again to Jim and the rest of the staff at the Chapter House. Great weekend!
