Albany Guide

Before spending time in Albany, it’s hard to claim tried-and-true New Yorker status. As one of the only remaining settlements from the original 13 colonies, Albany is the epicenter of New York history. However, there is so much more to Albany than just its past. This capital city offers high-quality entertainment, top-notch education, and a rich community filled with art and culture. An Albany guide can provide a glimpse into the many things to see and do here, including numerous art exhibits, farmers’ markets and museums. When searching for Albany things to do, consider visiting the Corning Tower Observation Deck, where you can check out breathtaking views from the tallest New York building outside of the city. On a clear day, it’s possible to catch a glimpse of the Catskills, the Berkshires, and even the Governor’s Mansion. Tourists are drawn to the detailed masonry of the New York State Capitol Building, but even residents can be found admiring the architecture with a sense of awe. Although the annual Tulip Festival is an event that is not to be missed, Washington Park also has much to offer during the rest of the year. The 84-acre park is home to the Lakehouse Amphitheatre, tennis courts, and bike paths, as well as many majestic statues and monuments. In the summer, the New York Giants arrive for training and this already vibrant city kicks things up a notch. From June to September, you can spend Thursday evenings listening to live music and watching the sun set over the Hudson River at the Alive at Five concert series. The Park Playhouse Theater Group produces free performances for an appreciative audience at Washington Park. There is much to see and do in Albany at any time of the year. No matter the season, come take advantage of all this great city has to offer.

Two Premiere Movie Tickets to Regal Cinemas
I purchased a Groupon for Regal movie tickets and followed the instructions exactly. I went to the Regal website, selected my theater, chose a standard showing (no IMAX or 3D), and entered the vouchers as directed. Unfortunately, the order would not process. I tried three separate times using different browsers, but nothing worked. Within about 10 minutes, I contacted Groupon support, only to be told that the purchase was non-refundable. As a result, I had no choice but to purchase again, so I could still take my daughter to see the Mario Brothers movie. In the end, I essentially paid double. Very disappointing experience, I would recommend avoiding this deal.
