Real Ryder Revolution pedals circles around monotonous workout routines and spin programs with a fleet of 30 RealRyder bicycles stationed at each of its studios. The RealRyder design allows exercise bikes to tilt and bank laterally, adding another dimension to stationary-cycle workouts and engaging the entire physique. Pulsating music energizes visitors as they power through 45- to 60-minute Rydes at their own pace, following instructors’ cues that challenge legs, cores, and comprehension of Simon Says rules. Real Ryder Revolution’s staff emphasizes that anyone can attend the cycling sessions and adjust the intensity of their rides based on their own fitness level. Depending on the location, Real Ryder Revolution also offers group fitness classes on TRX suspension training, boot-camp drills, and boxing techniques.
Bikram Yoga Ann Arbor’s instructors, certified by the technique's creator, Bikram Choudhury, sculpt lean frames with strengthening postures performed in elevated temperatures. They lead patrons of all skill levels through 90-minute Bikram-yoga classes, bathing bodies in hot air, which helps to loosen limbs for deeper stretching and coaxes out beads of sweat to flush out toxins and internal snowmen. The 26 postures pair up with two breathing techniques to awaken slumbering organs and keep veins coursing with oxygen-rich blood as students bolster balance, strength, and flexibility. Recently remodeled, the studio is now 75 percent bigger, includes more showers, and boasts new locker rooms.

Within the walls of the One on One Athletic Club's 35,000-square-foot facility, the sounds of bouncing basketballs and whirring exercise machines reverberate in tandem with the echoing voices of motivating instructors to create a round-the-clock symphony of hustle-and-bustle. Its staff of fitness experts packs the facility, assisting clients with the professional cardio and weight-training equipment or conducting personal-training sessions. The trainers also lead a variety of group classes, from high-intensity boot camps to revitalizing yoga sessions.
The club's expansive sports courts are also home to drop-in games of recreational sports like basketball, squash, and volleyball. Outside of the workout rooms, club facilities include a smoothie bar, steam rooms, and dry sauna.
Carrie Rezabek Dorr founded Pure Barre in 2001, and it has since grown its low-impact, high-intensity, ballet-inspired workouts to locations across the country. Certified Pilates instructor Carrie Bristol—who has an MA in French language and culture—operates the Ann Arbor location. Here, she welcomes students to a total-body workout that blends isometric exercise with therapeutic stretching to burn fat and build lean muscle mass. Although a soundtrack of upbeat music lends rhythm to each session, the absence of jumping, bouncing, and jack-hammering prevents damage to joints. The only equipment is a ballet barre used for stability and the meditative focus that turns a single hour into a boon for the body's health.
