What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
How nice would it be to simply disconnect from every negative thought of the day? Every bit of concern, worry, or anxiety simply melts, and is almost spontaneously cleared away, as one enters the relaxing and healing alpha brain wave state created by the awe of realistic stargazing ceiling.
What is the experience customers can expect?
The perfect "getaway" for anyone to relax and relieve stress and fatigue. Brings the outdoors inside for those who are bedridden or lack mobility.
Aids in meditation, and reflection, Romantic for adults. Helps those who have trouble falling asleep or fear the dark and night frights.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Passion of the starry night sky, and the ability to recreate this memorizing, inspiring experience on a person's ceiling so
you can enjoy the benefits of stargazing, every night, in the comfort of your own home. This is what inspired me to become a stargazing illusionist/artist.
What do you love most about your job?
Bringing the outdoors in! Recreating the experiences of stargazing at night, every night! The reactions I hear from children and parents as their stargazing ceiling is revealed to them for the first time! It's amazing!
Did you know that, on average, 88% of the seats in a movie theater remain empty during a showing? According to the New York Times, this phenomenon really surprised Sean Wycliffe a few years back when he went to see the Oscar-winning film The King's Speech and shared the theater with only two other audience members. With all the focus on online video services, Sean realized movie theaters were being overlooked, and came up with a concept that could help movie houses fill their empty seats.
His brainchild became Dealflicks, a website that offers customers discounted tickets (sometimes with popcorn or soda) for same-day showings. Customers shop a selection of deals, each of which is specific to a particular film, theater, and showtime, and upon purchase, receive an email voucher they present at the theater's ticket counter. Dealflicks is partnered with theaters around the country, particularly independent and neighborhood venues, such as the treehouse of the enterprising kid down the street.
Tim Flanigan created the event-planning company that bears his name in order to quench beer enthusiasts' thirst while supporting worthy causes. His Beat the Heat WinterFest brings a much-needed frosty edge to summertime in Arizona, and the Spring Swing Beer Bash kicks off baseball season with cold glassfuls of hoppy, wheaty, and malty goodness. The festivals showcase local and internationally renowned breweries, from Phoenix's own Old World Brewery and Phoenix Ale Brewery to Stella Artois and Hoegaarden Brewery.
Past events, which have benefitted children's charities, have been held at the 30,000-square-foot Arizona Event Center and The Venue Scottsdale, whose stone walls, chandeliers, and retractable roof resemble the medieval football stadiums of yore.
