Q&A with Dave, Owner, Teacher
How is your approach different than that of other professionals in your field?
I like to structure lessons around the history of "Rock & Roll", from it's birth up until today. I think of it as starting any relationship with someone. You can't really know them until you learn something about where they began .
What's one tip for first-time customers that will make them feel like regulars?
Be sure to say "hi" to my cat...Dubi.
What aspect of your job, or the services you offer, most often surprises people?
That I was the Chief Engineer at a world class recording studio and now I have a "mini" 24 track studio in my living room.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
I am a passionate, fun-loving, dedicated teacher who has a knack for connecting with my students. I would love to make music with you!
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
I provide all course materials. Students just need to bring an open mind and a positive attitude.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
For the love of music! I feel that music education is just as important as academic education. Music is a universal language, and when it is shared, we learn more about who we really are as human beings...Plus it's a lot of fun!
What do you love most about your job?
Connecting with my students on a daily basis and finding innovative ways to keep students engaged and encouraged.
Experienced photo gurus Doug Box and Randy Kerr impart practical photo skills to curious shutterbugs during engaging seminars that have appeared across the States and in eight countries abroad. Doug Box, author of myriad photography-technique books, is one of 13 Kodak mentors and is the Executive Director of the Texas Professional Photographers Association. His co-teacher, Randy Kerr, heads World Photographic, which uses photography as a vehicle for illuminating humanitarian and environmental topics. Both men have been teaching photography classes for years and help amateurs take photos that capture piercing looks, toothy smiles, and elusive dodo sightings.
Across three studios equipped with wooden dance-floors, Mary Lorraine's Dance Center's experienced instructors teach children and adults the intricate steps of a variety of dance styles. Classes include ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop, and the center also offers pom, stretch, and strengthen. And to accommodate both recreational and competitive students, the center offers two levels of courses: those that emphasize a fun environment and encourage dance-related knock knock jokes and those that are intensive and focus on career training and competitive elements.
